NYX Butter Lipstick Fireball Review

NYX Butter Lipstick Fireball

Hello Everyone,

Hope you all are having a good week, today I am here to review a fiery coral lipstick from NYX.

Product Description:

Pamper your lips with a hydrating kiss of smooth Butter Lipstick in 22 luxurious shades. The delicate texture of satin fused with the high color saturation creates an even finish on lips that’s long-wearing and beautiful.
What it is: Full coverage lipstick that feels like it melts onto the lips.
What it does: Adds a pop of color to lips.

Why we love it: This lightweight formula is non-sticky and deposits high impact color with just one stroke.

$6 for 4.5g.

My Experience with NYX Butter Lipstick Fireball:

The lipstick comes in a color coordinated packing which looks really attractive and is sturdy as well. The shade fireball is a deep coral color free of any shimmer, being a coral lover I could not miss this one. It looks like a true warm red based coral in the bullet but when worn it comes off as a warm reddish pink color on me and changes depending on the lighting. I guess the color will show up differently on everyone, it will look great on all skin tones and on darker skin tones the orange in it would really come out. The color really brightens up the face in a subtle way. It has a subtle sheen to it more like a satin finish. It has no noticeable fragrance.

The texture is smooth and hydrating and glides smoothly on the lips although it is not that creamy and buttery as nyx claims it is I feel, especially when compared to the regular creamy round lipsticks which is actually good since these hold up well and do not melt over time. The formula is very lightweight and slightly on the thinner side, it does not feel thick or heavy at allin spite of layering multiple times as well. I did not need to apply a lip balm prior to application, but after 2 hours of wear lips do feel slightly dry so for dry lips moisturizing beforehand would help. This particular shade needs well prepped lips as when worn as it is feels a bit flaky on the drier part of lips. Also after a while of application it settles in the lines on lips a bit especially if more than two layers are applied.

The pigmentation is not that great for this shade. It is more on the sheer side but easily buildable. One swipe gives a light wash of color and three to four swipes are required to get opaque coverage, but still I doubt if it alone would cover pigmented lips completely. In the swatches I have swiped it thrice. So the claims of being full coverage lipsticks by Nyx definitely fall flat here. Even after layering I did not notice any kind of feathering. It does transfer slightly and fades over time. It lasts for around two to three hours on me and leaves behind a slight tint.

Pros of NYX Butter Lipstick Fireball:

• Smooth texture that glides easily on lips
• The color will compliment all skin tones
• Sturdy color coordinated packaging
• Feels very lightweight and comfortable on lips
• Decent staying power
• Quite moisturizing
• Does not feather or bleed

Cons of NYX Butter Lipstick Fireball:

• It is quite sheerand may not cover pigmented lips completely
• Settles into lip lines
• Transfers slightly
• It highlights dry patches on lips at times
• Lips feels slightly dry after two hours of wear
• Not available in India

Do I recommend NYX Butter Lipstick Fireball?

I did have high hopes from these butter lipsticks but they do have their own cons. If you are looking for a sheer red based coral lip color then I recommend it, but it is not a must have in my opinion!
