I am high on lip colors nowadays and I am back with one more new product from NYX. This time, it’s their butter lipstick which I am going to review for you today. When Revlon butter lipstick came in the market, it became a huge hit and people who like creamy lipsticks love them a lot. I like long lasting, matte lipsticks, but since this range has lovely shades, I was not able to resist myself. So, let’s move on and find out more about this butter lipstick from NYX.
The unique texture seems to melt onto the lips, giving full, yet lightweight coverage with a luxurious satin finish.
My Experience with NYX Butter Lipstick Sweet Tart:
This lipstick looks like any other lipstick in the tube, but as soon as it comes in contact with the lips, it melts into a buttery texture. This texture gives a feel that the lipstick has sheer coverage, but the color is very much build-able. It covers my pigmented lips completely and gives an even color throughout. The lipstick is creamy but the bullet stays intact, unlike some buttery lipsticks where the bullet starts to melt in hot weather.
The shade “Sweet Tart” is a cool toned deep pink. This shade would look good on fair to medium skin tones. Though it’s a cool toned shade, it goes well on my skin with yellow undertones. I was eyeing the shade Razzel which is a bright fuchsia, but that was out of stock, so I bought Sweet Tart which is the closest shade to it. I am happy that I bought this as it’s a beautiful dark pink shade which lifts my face and goes well with many makeup looks. It looks slightly red under artificial light. It’s a perfect color for girls who want to wear bright pink without the fear that it may look over the top.
Coming to the staying power, because of its buttery texture, I did not expect it to stay for long. But the lipstick stayed on my lips for 4 hours with light snacking. When it fades away, it leaves a very faint stain behind which I like. It has a very caramel kind of sweet smell to it, but the smell is neither overpowering nor long lasting, so no issue for sensitive noses.
Summing up, if you love buttery and moisturizing lipsticks with awesome color payoff, then this is the perfect choice for you. Just go for it 🙂
