My Experience with NYX Cheek Contour Duo Palette Two to Tango:
The contour and blush duo powder formula comes in a sleek, transparent compact packaging with a flip top lid. I absolutely adore the black patterns on its packaging. It goes without saying, NYX has raised the bar for several other brands too by coming up with good quality yet affordable products.
My shade ‘Two to Tango’ comprises of two gorgeous shades – a soft brown bronzer with red undertones and a peachy pink blush with gold shimmers. To my slight disappointment as well as excitement, I find this palette more suitable for blush application and the soft brown bronzer is perfect for adding a warmth (it cannot add a strong contouring effect). This particular palette might be tricky even for fair/light skin tones. I say so because the soft brown bronzer seems a bit mild for contouring.
Still, I am not completely disappointed with this shade but then for more defined and contoured cheeks, this might be a wrong choice. Other than that, I fully enjoy wearing this subtle brown color on my cheeks. The peachy-pink shimmery blush seems apt for my skin tone and it provides a subtle, natural flush. I am also impressed by the formula and texture of these powders as they blend perfectly blend on my skin without accentuating my pores.
In fact, the blush looks quite subtle and wearable on my skin tone. It does not emphasize dryness or uneven skin texture. I just find it a bit tricky for highlighting, but it is good enough if you wish to add a natural flush of color to your skin tone. I often wear these shades together to create a perfect sun kissed look. Considering I have pale skin tone, the peachy pink and soft brown colors add much needed warmth and youthful glow to my skin tone.
The powdery texture of these products appear flaky in the pan but they appear absolutely seamless, silky and smooth on my skin. Hence, the finish of these powders is neither powdery not chalky. I love how they blend and impart a saturated finish which is buildable with a few swipes. In fact, these powders do not emphasize my fine lines or dryness. Also, these powders do not affect my acne prone skin.
The blush manages to stay for good 5-6 hours on my skin without any fading or patchy finish, which is really commendable considering I have oily skin plus the weather is hot here. This might not be the most perfect blush and bronzer duo still I can play with these colors. They blend easily and give good color pay off afterall. Since I own many similar shades already, I might not get this palette again but I do recommend this range to every beauty.
