I’m back with my second NYX roll on shimmer shade post, one I did earlier was in the shade Salmon. This one I decided to share with you chicas today is a much darker shade to the Salmon and it’s called Chestnut (RES13). I had mentioned that I would go back for more shades and found this dusky shimmery brown totally appealing and a great versatile shade to blend with other shades too. I thought a rich brown coppery and iridescent hue would be apt to create a smokey eyed look for those glam evenings when I want my eyes to do most of the talking. 😉

I was going to pick some more colours, but since I had a few “essential” items to pick up that day, I restrained myself and that deserves a pat on the back. Good girl Mimosa you didn’t over indulge! And as I always say: When in doubt just add glitter!

My Experience with NYX Chestnut Res13 Roll On Eye Shimmer:

As I have said earlier in my Salmon review, I adore the fact that this product readily glides on and has the most brilliant density you can imagine. One swipe and it gives you the same rich hue that can be seen from outside the tube. Despite being loose powder, its silky formula allows it to slide on with a single stroke, and you can increase your desired density by applying as much as you like. Application is extremely effortless and super-duper intense glamorous shade that looks like a million bucks. Considering that it’s only 430 rupees, I knew I would be back for more after my first buy, as normally I’d dish out a lot more for a rich colour and texture like this.

Since it is loose powder at the end of the day, to ensure the powder lasts on your eyes, using a primer and maybe a slightly sticky base coat of white or nude is highly recommended. My eye lids are oily so a primer definitely makes sense to maximize the overall effect. Also, glitter, that too in the loose form, can get extremely messy so best to do your eyes first and then clean the rest of the face before you do your base/foundation etc.

As this is a dark shade, I don’t use this all over my eyelids, but in the outer v corners and then blend with a lighter shade used in the inner corners or I use this simply as a liner on both the upper or lower lash lines. Either roll it on directly, or dab on with the roller and use your brush for definite application and smudging etc. whatever works for you.

As the products suggests, this isn’t just limited to the eyes, but can be smothered anywhere on your body and face, but it’s too dark to use on my body so I will stick to my eyes.

Cons of NYX Chestnut Res13 Roll On Eye Shimmer:

• Can fall off a bit with time, hence the primer is a must
• Loose powder glitter does get messy so be prepared to clean away the extras that will settle here and there
• As your eyes will be doing most of the talking, you may have a tough time getting some alone time :0
