NYX Cinnamon Sugar Round Lipstick Review

After a really long time, I felt like reviewing a lipstick today. Lipsticks are hands down my most favorite beauty product ever and I keep collecting them all the time. The product I’m reviewing is NYX extra creamy round lipstick in the shade Cinnamon Sugar. Read on to know more about it.

Product Description:

Ingredients:

Ceresin Wax, Polyethlene Wax, Candelilla wax, Microcrystalline Wax, Beeswax, Lanoline Oil, Isopropyl Myristate, Mineral Oils, Octyl Palmitate, BHA, Propyl Paraben, Mica, Titanium Dioxide, D&C Red No.A1 Lake, Pearl Powder, Iron Oxide. Available in 144 shades.

My take on NYX Cinnamon Sugar Round Lipstick:

Packaging: It comes in a simple black colored packaging with the bottom of the bullet denoting the color of the lipstick (nude brown in case of this lipstick), which is in fact very practical. Despite being simple, the packaging is actually quite sturdy and travel friendly.

Shade:Cinnamon Sugar shade is nothing like the color of cinnamon. It is actually a very warm earthy toned lipstick with lots of shimmer in it. Because of the shimmer in it, it ends up looking slightly pink/ grey on my face. I don’t think it really suits me anyway, because even though I have owned this lipstick for a really long time now, I have barely worn it a handful number of times. This shade is meant only for fair-skinned people. It washes me out completely. I would say this shade is not at all meant for medium/ dark skinned beauties. I’m really disappointed by this lipstick because of the shimmer content and the tricky shade.

Texture: the texture of NYX round lipsticks is often compared to that of MAC creme sheen lipsticks that are almost the same texture as these NYX extra creamy round ones. This lipstick is buttery soft and it glides on to the lips very smoothly. I haven’t used this lipstick a ton of times, but the few number of times when I have applied this lipsticks, I remember applying only two coats of this lipstick because the pigmentation is fairly good. This lipstick, despite being heavy on shimmer, has a velvety smooth texture. This lipstick is very moisturizing, like all the other NYX extra creamy round lipsticks and does not dry out the lips even when it is not accompanied by a lip balm. The wear time is pretty average; it stays on for 3-4 hours with light meals.

Pros of NYX Cinnamon Sugar Round Lipstick:

• Nyx extra creamy round lipsticks are very affordable.
• Nyx extra creamy round lipsticks come in a wide variety of shades, 144 shades to be precise..
• This lipstick is very smooth in texture.
• It does not bleed as such..
• It does not settle into fine lines on the lips
• It is decently pigmented. Usually it requires only two swipes.
• Sturdy packaging.

Cons of NYX Cinnamon Sugar Round Lipstick:

• I do not like this shade. It just does not look good on me. It washes me out completely.
• It makes my already pigmented lips look even more dark than usual.
• People who don’t like lipsticks with shimmer can skip this one.
• This shade is not meant for people with very pigmented lips.
• Medium to dark-skinned beauties can skip this.

Will I repurchase it/ do I recommend NYX Cinnamon Sugar Round Lipstick?

I won’t repurchase it and unless you’re really into lipsticks with shimmer in them, I won’t suggest you to buy this either.
