Winters call for deeper shades, I do not own many wintery shades and I do not own glosses at all! I picked up “Devil’s Food Cake” from NYX recently and I have been loving it. Now, let’s get to the review straight.
Buttery soft and silky smooth, the scrumptious new NYX Butter Gloss tastes as sweet as a sugar cookie – and makes your lips look downright luscious. Swipe it on alone or over your favorite NYX lipstick for creamy sheer to medium coverage that melts onto your lips.
• Soft and Silky Smooth Butter Lip Gloss.
• Luxurious satin finish.
• Having a Lightweight formula and being non-sticky, NYX Butter Gloss leaves your lips soft and supple.
• Every glossy colour delivers sheer to medium coverage.
My Experience with NYX Devil’s Food Cake Butter Gloss:
Packaging: Butter glosses from NYX come in color-coded tubes which makes your life easy if you have a lot of shades from this range in your collection. The tube is sturdy and has a plastic cap which holds the applicator wand. The sponge applicator is easy to use and picks up a good amount of product. However, at times, I feel the need of going back for a second dip. Overall, it is nice and travel-friendly too.
Shade: Devil’s Food Cake is a nice deep berry shade which is perfect for this season. This has no shimmer and comes as a plain color on the lips. The color is bang on bold and would come fully opaque in a maximum of two swipes. This shade is particularly good because it will suit almost all skin tones with ease.
Texture and Pigmentation: I really love the buttery and soft texture of this gloss. It also doesn’t feel very heavy and sticky either. It feels almost comfortable on the lips. The pigmentation is also really good. I need only a swipe of it to get a wash of color and just one more if I want total coverage. it does not bleed at all.
Lasting Power: As this is a gloss, it transfers quite a lot. It does not survive meals at all and it is a pain to see my white coffee mug stained with this! But it does leave a hint of color behind which looks so natural. I’ve been wearing this like a tint ever since. This lasts for about 3 hours or so and not more. The best part of this gloss is its moisturizing formula. It feels balm-like and makes my lips soft and supple. I’ve been a big fan of this shade and the formula too!
