I prefer lip glosses to lipsticks. Not because I don’t like them or how they look on my pout, but because application of lipsticks remain a form of art I haven’t mastered yet. So, I stick to lip glosses. Just pull out a tube and dab on the lips and you are ready to go. No fumbling with lip-liners and lipstick brushes. I own a couple of glosses and keep adding to my collection, every now and then, if they happen to catch my fancy and if they are priced below a strategic number which keeps changing according to my whims. The latest entrant in my collection is one of my online purchases, Nyx Diamond Sparkle Lip Gloss in the shade Ginger Sparkle. Read on to know how it fared.

My Experience with Nyx Diamond Sparkle Lip Gloss in Ginger Sparkle:
The gloss comes in a transparent, rectangular glass tube with fibre cap to which the applicator is attached. The screw on cap is pretty sturdy and there is no leakage of any sort. It looks very much like Revlon Colorburst Lip Glosses sans the quilted looking cap and also it is much smaller in size. Coming to the product, the first thing you notice about it when you open the cap is that is smells horrible, kind of like tobacco, maybe. When you apply it on your lips, however the smell fades away. The colour of the product appears to be pinkish-peachy in colour with gold shimmers. I have a feeling that if the gold shimmers were to be removed from the gloss, the formula would appear a rich coral. The shimmers bothered me a little, but the shade enhanced my skin tone, which, by the way, happens to be wheat-ish. For the colour to show on your lips, the gloss would have to be coated thrice or more. I, however, like to wear it very sheer. The formula is not sticky at all.
The consistency is thicker than the normal gloss, much more, like that of a liquid lipstick. That’s what I love best about the gloss. It is super-pigmented and can be worn over pigmented lips. The staying power of this gloss is amazing. It stayed put on my lips for around three and half hours and then I got bored and wiped it away to put on another gloss. And also it was not drying at all. My lips remained moisturized for the entire duration it stayed on my lips. This particular shade, Ginger Sparkle, would look amazing on fair to wheat-ish to women. I am not sure, but I think it might wash out the darker beauties in spite of the glitters. I would recommend it to all the beauties who don’t mind shimmers in their products.
Pros of Nyx Diamond Sparkle Lip Gloss in Ginger Sparkle:
Cons of Nyx Diamond Sparkle Lip Gloss in Ginger Sparkle:
Hate the smell.
Contains glitters. (But what would something named Diamond Sparkle contain if not glitter?).
This particular shade might not work for the darker beauties.
3.5/5 (-0.5 for the horrid smell)
