I have a huge crush on orange lipsticks, and I can’t control myself from picking up a new orange shade. Today’s pick is this NYX Plush Gel Lipstick in the shade ‘Foxy Love’. It is a true orange shade that won my heart, but read on to know how the formula works on me.

My Experience with NYX Foxy Love Plush Gel Lipstick:

NYX Plush Gel lipstick comes in a gorgeous orange, color-coded packaging with a sturdy cap. This tube is quite cute and small in size, hence is easy to carry. I love this pretty packaging so much! But the quantity is very less with respect to the price. The product is a bit pricey with an average quality.

I have the shade ‘Foxy Love’ and this is a bright true orange shade. I love such kind of popping, loud orange shades. This one looks so pretty on my medium skin tone. It doesn’t wash me out and it has a warm tone so it suits my tone perfectly. This orange is suitable for all skin tones. This is a perfect shade for summer. It adds a bright glow to the face and totally pops up my look. Also, the shade is so well pigmented that only two swipes are required for the true color to show up. It can hide pigmented lips decently and it doesn’t have any shimmers in it. I love it.

As the name suggests, it is a gel lipstick and the concept of the gel lipstick is new to me. The texture is very smooth and creamy-gel like that glides easily on the lips. It spreads evenly on the lips without feeling patchy. It offers a lot of moisturisation, thanks to its formula; the formula keeps the lips soft and hydrated for long. It is really a nice lipstick for dry lips. It doesn’t highlight dry patches. Actually, it provides instantly soft and smooth lips, just like a good lip balm. It has a very glossy and shiny finish and looks like I have applied lip gloss but it is a lipstick. My lips look like a juicy orange jelly. I am a matte lover yet I love the finish of this lipstick.

But, due to its gel-like texture, it transfers a lot. It transfers everywhere and the color looks faded because of this property. Also, it looks smudged from the lip lines after an hour. The quality is quite poor, even worse than super creamy lipsticks. It doesn’t settle into the fine lines and does not crease. Overall, I am not happy with its quality.

As we all know, glossy lip colors can’t survive and this one too has a very poor staying power. It hardly stays for around 2-3 hours on my lips without any meal. But it starts to after an hour; and, after 2 hours it looks like a light peach lip color. It can’t survive a meal, not even snacks. It just totally goes away after a meal, which is very disappointing. A reapplication is required every 2 hour. But I don’t prefer to reapply it continuously. Also, the quantity is very less, so I don’t think it will last long. It actually behaves like pigmented lip balm for me.

I have used so many orange shades earlier and this is a nice shade of orange. It is poppy and bold, just the way I like it. I even like its glossy finish. But its super low staying power makes it a poor product.

Will I Repurchase/Recommend NYX Foxy Love Plush Gel Lipstick?
I don’t like its staying power, so I will not pick up more shades. I am not recommending this range either. This is a lovely bright orange shade with a beautiful glossy finish, but its staying power is not great at all.
