Hello gorgeous ladies,
NYX has always been one of my favourite drugstore brands. Although I loved using their blushes and lipsticks, I would like to admit that I was never a fan of NYX eyeshadows, whether singles or palettes. Then, enters – NYX Prismatic Eyeshadow which changed my perception about NYX eyeshadows. The NYX prismatic eyeshadows were launched last year and since I had no access to these, I could not pick these babies. Recently, my local Shopper Drugmart started carrying a whole line of NYX products and I am thoroughly enjoying that. So, let’s have a look at why I love this NYX Prismatic Eyeshadow in Frostbite.
Live in a world of kaleidoscope color with our Prismatic Shadows. Mix and match any of these 12 brilliant metallic shades to achieve a fun stunning eye look in seconds.
My Experience with NYX Frostbite Prismatic Shadows:
The NYX Prismatic eyeshadows are available in 12 gorgeous shades which are – Frostbite, Punk Heart, Liquid Gold, Girl Talk, Mermaid, Smoke and Mirrors, Golden Peach, Blue Jeans, Fireball, Bedroom Eyes, Jaded and Tin. Since I was not too sure of the quality of these babies, I just picked up one to try. But now that I am super impressed with this one, we all know what’s going to happen, right ladies? 😛
Packaging: This shadow comes packaged in a cute little silver and black pot with a clasp that’s a little silver bow. How freaking amazingly cute is that!! It’s a fine way of adding that little bit of a girly touch to the tiny eyeshadow, without going crazy. The packaging is sturdy, sleek and simple. They also have a hinge opening, similar to their other eyeshadows, which I prefer to a cap that comes off all the way.
Color: “Frostbite” is white with a lilac duo-chrome when it catches the light. Just gorgeous! I do not have a shade similar to this in my collection and hence when I swathed this in the store, I fell for it! I love duochrome in everything – I mean nail colours, wrapping papers and eyeshadows as well!
Pigmentation: The pigmentation is absolutely incredible! This eyeshadow formulation created by NYX can rival any expensive high-end eye shadow on the market. That’s why these were such a pleasant surprise because the original NYX eyeshadows were decent, but I wasn’t super impressed by them. In the images of the hand swatch and the eye swatch, these are swatched without a primer, so you can see how truly pigmented these are!
Texture: These are probably some of the softest and smoothest eyeshadows I have ever touched! No exaggerations ladies, I mean it!! You can actually see how soft they are in the hand swatch. To me, they are no less than a highly pigmented loose eyeshadow pigment that was loosely pressed together. The only downside to them being this soft is that they tend to have a lot of fallout, so you need to be careful with that.
Longevity: Without a primer, this eyeshadow lasts on my lid for a good 8 hours and with my MAC Paint Pot in Painterly, the longevity increases to at least 12-13 hours with the same life and colour it showed up when I first applied it, if that makes sense. So the conclusion is that they’re long-lasting as well!
