My Verdict on NYX Round Gloss True Red, Apricot, Pinky Natural:
I bought these long back from Cherry Culture. They had a sale going on and these were marked down from their already low (original) price. I was awestruck at their price and also for the fact that this range of glosses is available in whopping 36 shades, ranging from matte to shimmer finish.
I picked up three shades on random; True Red, Pinky Natural and Apricot. All these 3 glosses are matte finish glosses with no shimmer/glitter particles in them.
The gloss comes in simple, cute, long plastic tubes with a black cap. The sponge-tip applicator/wand it has is slightly angled and pretty decent; picks up enough gloss for each application.
The texture is soft and these go on smoothly on the lips. These are fairly moisturising, don’t dry off my lips, but not very moisturising too.
I find that these carry a weird fragrance like slightly chemical-ish+bubble gum and fruity. I am not a fan of such fragrances, I prefer my lip products to carry no fragrances/ taste at all.
These are nicely pigmented; the darker colours like True Red and Pinky Natural give good amount of colour in a single swipe while with Apricot I need about 2 coats of the gloss. otherwise, it shows up very sheer. True Red is one of my favourites this winter; I love to wear it just over my lip balm.
The staying power is just about an hour or so which is fine I guess since the glosses are of non-sticky kind and at the price I wasn’t really expecting them to be of long-wear kind.
Overall, I find these glosses to be decent. These are not my cult favourite, but are really good value for money. At the price, I won’t mind stocking these up just for the beautiful array of colours they are available in. Girlies on a budget should give these a shot, you won’t be disappointed.
