NYX High Definition Blush – Baby Doll Review

Hi everyone,

Today’s review is all about a high definition blush from Nyx. Almost all the products from this brand are paraben free and vegan. That’s one reason why I love Nyx cosmetics. I was eyeing on this blush for a long time and finally got my hands on it. Let’s read on more to know, how this fared for me.

My Experience With Nyx High Definition Blush– Baby Doll

Packaging: The packaging is too cute! I love how it comes in a sleek black tiny plastic case with a bow in the middle. I absolutely loved the bow and that adds to the appearance of the blush case. This was my first buy from the high definition blush range and I was surprised to see, how small this looked in real than compared to the picture in the e-commerce site. I was expecting it to be of a big size, as it looked a little big on the screen. But, this didn’t disappoint me anyway, as it still looked cuter in that size. All the ingredients and necessary information are labeled behind the case. It is definitely a travel-friendly product, as it is lightweight and occupies very little space in the makeup pouch.

The texture is smooth and glides easily onto the skin. The texture is soft and not powdery or chunky at all. I had no issues in blending the product. It glides and blends easily without any fuss.

It’s a pretty baby pink shade with tiny silver micro shimmers in it. I always wanted to purchase this, because I loved the shade. We girls love pinks and that must be one reason, why this shade is always out of stock on e-commerce sites. It looked so pretty in the palette. But at first, when I tried applying it on my cheeks, I could notice that it had a tint of white in it which made it appear a little chalky. I have fair skin tone, but it’s chalky effect was still visible on my skin. However, it does look pretty after I apply my foundation and this shade is meant only for people with fair skin tones. People with dark rich skin tones may not be able to carry it well as it looks a bit chalky. The silver micro shimmers in it add a glow on your face and I am glad they don’t migrate on all over my face.

In terms of pigmentation, it is quite pigmented and the color is much visible on the first swipe itself. I like the fact that it is buildable and one can adjust the color depending on their liking. For me, it looks perfect in one swipe, as it looks very natural that way. With my second swipe, I would need to blend it well and it looks good afterwards. I once moved on to apply the third swipe and it looked too loud and was kind of hard to blend then. The best way to apply this blush is by taking a little amount in very light handed blush brush and dusting the excess amount of product before applying it on the cheeks.

It lasts for good 5 to 6 hours and fades a little afterwards. This definitely isn’t a longlasting formula, but I can say that the staying power is decent. This shade looks prettier even after it fades a little, as it adds a nice pink flush of color on my fair skin tone. Overall, I liked how it fared on me, but the chalky white color in the blush still bothers me.

Do I Recommend Nyx High Definition Blush– Baby Doll?
If you are looking for a pretty looking pink shade of blush and if you have a fair skin tone you should go for it. It’s a big no for people with medium, tan or dark skin tones, because it has a tint of white shade in it, which will end up looking chalky on you.
