My Experience with NYX Illuminator Chaotic:
Packaging:
NYX Illuminator comes in a reflective black plastic compact with a full-sized mirror. The packaging looks sleek and sturdy.
Ideal for:
Acne-prone skin, mature skin, sensitive skin, normal skin, oily skin, dry skin, combination skin.
Texture:
This illuminator is supposed to serve as a highlight cum blush. All my subtle glow lovers out there, you have to grab onto this one! The pigmentation is great; however, I found it to be a little powdery to work with. The shimmer is finely milled.
I got mine in the shade ‘Chaotic’, which is a light-medium pink with warm undertones. It goes well with pale/fair to medium-olive skin tones. It stays for about 2-3 hours on the skin, which is a disappointment again.
I honestly have mixed reviews about this illuminator. I love to apply it on days when I just want that natural flush on my cheeks. Just swipe it against the areas of the face you’d like to highlight and you’ll be left with a very subtle, naturally-glowy highlight and a pinky blush.
You do have to dip your brush in twice as it comes off barely noticeable, so you have to use more product. Chaotic is a beautiful, shimmering soft peachy-pink shade. I love this shade. However, NYX has to up its game with this one as far as pigmentation is concerned.
Pros of NYX Illuminator Chaotic:
• Easy to apply
• Lightweight
• Mildly pigmented
• Delivers a subtle glow
• Blends well
• Smooth
Cons of NYX Illuminator Chaotic:
• Poor coverage
• Poor staying power
IMBB Rating:3.5/5
Would I Repurchase NYX Illuminator Chaotic?
I don’t think I’ll need this as I don’t usually wear subtle highlights.
