My Experience with NYX Intense Butter Gloss – Summer Fruit:
NYX, being a very economical brand, does not generally have a big and classy packaging. The intense butter gloss comes in a color coded plastic bottle which helps in identifying the shade easily. It has a plastic cap which holds the applicator. The details as to the name, number and ingredients of the shade are written on the plastic bottle itself. The applicator is a doe-foot shaped one and is good enough for the purpose. I feel it picks up more product than required but, it can be worked around easily. The gloss bottle is small and sturdy and hence, it is travel-friendly.
Summer Fruit, as the name suggests, is a vibrant orangey peach shade. It is more of Peach with slight orange and pink undertones. There are no shimmers in it. Being a gloss, it has a nice glossy finish to it. Now, I find the color very tricky. One who has a fair complexion might be able to pull off this color. This shade looks great on women with medium skin tones. Dark skin beauties should stir away a bit as it will look ghoulish. Moreover, this shade has the complete capacity to make you look washed. The best way to carry this shade would be to keep minimalistic makeup and let the lips do the talking. One think for sure is that dark circles and summer fruit, a total no-no.
Texture and Pigmentation:
These intense butter glosses are one step ahead of the NYX Butter glosses in terms of the feel and consistency. As the name suggests, these are intensely buttery soft. When you apply it on the lips, you will feel as though you are actually applying butter. They glide on the lips with no efforts at all. The consistency of the intense butter gloss is quite thick just like the liquid lipsticks in the market now. Not at all watery.
At the same time, it is not very extremely thick, the types which would make application a little bit difficult. Although these are glosses, they have amazing pigmentation and impart a near to opaque thick layer on the lips. Summer Fruit is somewhere between opaque and sheen and if a single layer is applied, then I can see the strokes of the sponge on the lips. To make it even, if I apply another layer, then it feels a little heavy on the lips. With this shade, in particular, I find layering to be uneven and streaky and also heavy. Also, I see it bleeding a bit outside the lip lines. Remember to prep up the lips, as this shade tends to highlight uneven and dry patches. Also, since it is thick in consistency, it will cling on to rough patches and looked crumbled.
Being a gloss, I didn’t expect it to last longer and I was right. It hardly lasted for 2-3 hours and that too without eating or drinking at all. Once you start eating and drinking, it will be all gone from your lips and transfers onto the cutlery. It will not survive a complete meal. It leaves a peachy tint behind. It is not overly moisturising(remember I have super dry lips) but, feels like a balm on the lips. I also find it a little sticky initially, but then, it wears out eventually.

Will I Recommend/Repurchase NYX Intense Butter Gloss – Summer Fruit?
Well, I have tried a few ones from this range and I like them but, for this particular color, I would say no to both. Had this shade been the first color that I would have tried from this range, I would have been very disappointed and never tried any other shade. But, I was lucky. With NYX, I feel that different shades within the same range behave differently. So, always try before you buy them. Who knows someone might really like this shade!
