NYX Licorice Butter Lipstick Review

Hima Banu

Skin Tone: Medium to Dusky

Hello lovely ladies,

Hope you all are doing great. Today, I am going to review NYX Butter Lipstick in the shade Licorice. I wanted to pick up a plum shade for the fall season. So when I went to the drugstore, I saw this shade and quickly grabbed it. This is my first purchase from NYX. So, let’s get started.

Price: $6 for 4.5 g

My Experience with NYX Licorice Butter Lipstick:

Packaging:
The packaging of this product is quite to the point. The tube is color coded and made up of lightweight plastic. Hence, you can easily identify the lip color from the outer packaging, which is really cool. There is also a window to see the shade but it ends up getting messy as we twist the bullet. Thus, the lipsticks tends to look dirty at times.

Shade:
Licorice is a dark vampy shade. It is a unique plum shade but has burgundy undertones.

Application and Formula:
As the brand promises, this lipstick is quite hydrating and has a creamy texture. It is quite lightweight and leaves a satiny, creamy finish on the lips. The pigmentation is also quite impressive as we can easily achieve an opaque look. Even though the formula is quite thin, it is slippery; this property makes gliding the lipstick on the lips super easy. The finish, upon initial application, looks glossy but it doesn’t last long.

Wear Time:
Since the lipstick is very creamy, it lasts on the lips for just 4-6 hours, even if I do not drink or eat anything. Once I consume something, the lipstick starts to fade. Also, this shade tends to transfer a lot. Even though this lipstick doesn’t dry out my lips, it is not particularly moisturizing.

Overall:
I like this lipstick and the entire range. These lipsticks feel comfortable on the lips and there are so many shades to choose. Choose your shade wisely as pigmentation and staying power vary from shade to shade.

Pros of NYX Licorice Butter Lipstick:

• Vampy plum shade
• Creamy consistency
• Lightweight
• Good pigmentation
• Comfortable
• Glossy finish
• Huge shade range

Cons of NYX Licorice Butter Lipstick:

• Transfers
• Leaves a stain
• Doesn’t survive meals
• Packaging looks messy
