Hope you are all enjoying the first days of monsoon after the scorching heat. Am still boiling in Chennai heat and eagerly waiting for the monsoons. Moving on to the review I have a lip liner from NYX in the shade rose brown to review today.

My experience with NYX Lip Liner Pencil – #814 Rose Brown

Packaging–
The lip liner comes in a wooden pencil form with all details printed on the body. The shade name and number is also mentioned on the body itself. The tip of the pencil is color coded so if you store lip pencils upside down like I do, you will find this very easily in your stash.

Texture–

The lip liner is just right in texture. It is neither too creamy nor too dry that it tugs or pulls your lips. Those who prefer their lip liners to be super creamy this may not be the right choice for you. But I generally fill my lips with liners and hence I always like my liners to be mid way between creamy and hard. I find this is just the texture I prefer. Though this can be a bit drying if worn alone on the lips.

Pigmentation–

Owing to the shade the color deposition in single swipe is awesome. The intensity of the shade can be built up but that depends totally on the preference of the user. The liner gives opaque coverage and hence no complaint. The shade is actually rusty chocolate. If I had the power I would have sacked the person who named it rose brown.

Staying power-

As a liner it stays on till I remove it with a remover. But when applied full-on the lips with a clear balm or gloss it tends to slip away with food and drinks. Still it stays a decent 3-4 hours on my lips.

Would I recommend NYX lip liner pencil is Rose Brown?

If you are looking for a rose brown shade, that is more or less neutral on your lips then NO! if you want a decent chocolate-y brick shade to go with your dark lipsticks then YES!

Last Word: Dear NYX, you have lovely products at affordable prices, please do not mess up things with wrong nomenclature. Get a crash course on colors (you are earning selling them)!
