My Experience with NYX Lip Lingerie Liquid Lipstick Embellishment:
Let’s start with the packaging of the product – the liquid lipstick comes in a long cylindrical transparent plastic tube. The tube closes with a black-colored screw on type cap. There is a regular doe-foot applicator attached with this cap. The applicator wand is long enough and helps facilitates proper application of the lipstick. The body bears the necessary product-related information printed on it in black fonts. The clear tube helps to spot the shade easily from my makeup stash. The shade name is also printed at the side of the tube. The tube is sleek and does not take much space in my makeup pouch. Overall, the packaging is nice and travel friendly.
“Embellishment” is a taupe kind of shade with a purplish hue. It looks more like a dusty lavender kind of a shade. This shade is light and will surely wash out deeper complexions. It looks like of okay on my skin tone. It is not much flattering on my skin tone. It will look lovely on fair-skinned beauties. The shade is subtle and suitable for those who do not prefer using bold shades on a regular basis. This shade is apt for everyday usage and can be worn easily anywhere.
The finish is perfect matte. Once it sets, it is absolutely transfer-proof and smudge-proof. There is no sheen or shimmer in this lipstick. It has a mild fragrance, which is totally not bothersome. The color payoff of this lipstick is excellent. It gives close to opaque coverage with a single swipe. I apply a second coat of this lipstick to even out the color and edges. I apply a second coat just to even out the edges. It hides all the flaws and pigmentation of my lips. My lips look really nice and matte with this lip color on my lips.
The texture of the lipstick is nice, creamy, and mousse-like. The formula is thin, smooth and creamy. Hence, it glides on the lips like a dream. It does not cause any drag on the lips. The formula is lightweight and feels super comfortable on the lips. The texture is not thick or heavy. Since, it is a matte lip color, you have to make sure that your lips are well prepped as it clings to the dry patches of the lips. I always prefer exfoliating and moisturizing my lips well before applying this lip color on my lips. I had observed that this particular range from NYX is slightly drying on the lips.
This shade emphasizes the fine lines of my lips. It does not have the problem of crumbling, like some other liquid lipstick. The Sugar cosmetic liquid lipsticks in my stash have a tendency to crumble. The lipstick does not streak at all and goes evenly on the lips. The lipstick is smudge-proof and stays in place all the time. It is perfectly transfer proof and does not budge even after a full meal, but the color fades away from the center of the lips after having an oily meal.
The lipstick dries out pretty quickly, in around 40-50 seconds, so I have to be really quick while applying the lip color. The formula is not moisturizing and hydrating, so it is important to properly hydrate the lips.
The lasting power of this shade is somewhere around 5-6 hours without any smearing or chipping of the color, but it fades away with a heavy meal and requires reapplication after that. Removing the lipstick is a little bit tedious. It takes a little time and effort to melt down completely and hence, a little effort is required to get rid of this lipstick stains completely.
