As I already said in my earlier posts that I did an online haul recently. I bought a few things from NYX, Maybelline and L’oreal. Here is another lip pencil from NYX which I bought as an add-on to my N*de lip pencil collection. Today I am going to review the shade 850 Nectar. Continue reading to find how it fared.

My experience with NYX Lip Pencil 850 Nectar
Firstly I am not a lip liner girl. I hardly used lip liners before. But boy, ever since IMBB became my addiction, I am going gaga over all the makeup products. This is probably my third lip liner from the NYX slim lip pencil range. I already own pinky and bloom, both of them are great colours and I was quite satisfied with them. I wanted to add one more to my NYX collection and to my n*de lip pencil collection, hence I bought 850 Nectar shade.
Packaging: These slim lip pencils are small when compared to other lip pencils in the market. The quantity is 1 gram, which is very less. There is no sharpener provided with these lip pencils.
Texture: These lip pencils are smooth, creamy. They literally glide on lips like butter unlike other lip pencils which literally pop blood out of lips :P. There is a lot of product wastage when sharpened, because the texture of the lip pencil is very creamy.
Odour: This has a quite appealing lipstick kind of smell, which I liked.
Colour: This is a light coppery n*de kind of shade. It does not have any glitter particles in it, but it gives a shimmery effect once applied on lips. I am actually ok with both matte and shimmer lip pencils/lippies. I don’t apply lip pencils as lip stick, I use them only to draw my lip line or as a base.
Pigmentation: The pigmentation is not so satisfying. It hardly gives any pigmentation. Women with highly pigmented lips can skip this.
Staying Power: When applied alone, this stays on lips for a good 3 to 4 hours. It survives a mini meal but leaves a glittery tint on lips after fading. It does settle on fine lines, giving a chappy look to lips. Lips have to be well exfoliated and hydrated before applying this lip pencil. The shimmer stays there until it is wiped using a makeup remover.
Usage: This works as an average base for shimmer lipsticks and works satisfactorily when used to draw outline for lips.
Ideal for: Fair skin toned ladies with non pigmented lips can easily carry the colour.
I had hard time in capturing the exact shade, hence I have taken the pictures of the liner in day light, tube light and with flash. Do let me know in the comments on how do you like the shade .
