NYX Liquid Eyeliner in Navy Review

NYX Liquid Eyeliner in Navy Review

Hello beautiful ladies,

Today, I will be reviewing a liquid eyeliner from NYX. This is one of my 4 liquid liners I have ever bought.  Years ago, when I wasn’t too fond of makeup, I bought two liquid liners, both of which dried, as I didn’t use them much. After that, I never bought a liquid liner fearing that it may dry. I do have 3 more liquid liners, but they were either gifted or I got them in a set. So finally, I decided to buy one myself as now I believe that I will be able to use it before it dries up and as always I wanted to buy NYX. I bought the color “Navy,” which is a dark blue, as I have my black gel liner from Maybelline which I don’t want to replace.

Price:

INR 450 for 6.5 ml.

Packaging:

Like majority of NYX products, these also come in a black packaging. The tube of the liner has a thin strip of color indicating the actual color of the liner. This makes it easy to recognize the shade without reading the name, but the centre strip of color does not exactly resemble the actual color; it is just a faded indication of the shade.

Ingredients:

Water, PVP, Butylene Glycol, Montmorillonite, Sodium Magnesium Silicate, Polysorbate 20, Xanthan Gum, Methylparaben, Phenoxyethanol, Ethylparaben, and Disodium EDTA. MAY CONTAIN: Synthetic Fluorphlogopite Mica (CI 77019), Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891), Carmine (CI 75470), Red Iron Oxides (CI 77491), Yellow Iron Oxide (CI 77492), Black Iron Oxide (CI 77499), Blue No.1 (CI 42090), Yellow No.4 (CI 19140), Ultramarines (CI 77007), or Ferric Ferrocyanide (CI 77510).

My Take on NYX Liquid Eyeliner in Navy:

I wanted to get a royal blue liner and went for liquid formulation as I wanted to get a little glossy and shiny finish (which is not achieved by a pencil), but this liner is not what I wanted. Firstly, the color is true to its name, it actually is a dark navy blue and opposite of my expectations; it dries to give a matte finish instead of a shiny look. The color is such a dark blue that it almost seems to be a black on the lids. Although, this is not the product I was looking for, I still liked it due to the many plus points it has.

Usually, a single coat is enough to get the actual color, but sometimes, it becomes streaky and a second coat is needed. The best part about this liner is that it dries quickly, and that’s what the company claims. It just takes a few seconds to dry.  Before buying this, I read a review on IMBB about the black one and the review said that the liner does not dry fast, so I didn’t expect this from the liner at the time of buying, but fortunately my color does dry fast.

The applicator is thin and thus helps to make a thin line. The size of the tube is not so bulky which makes it easier to carry in a small bag and its sturdy packaging makes the product travel friendly. Another thing I liked about this product is that it does not fade on its own, either a rub from fingers, or very oily lid can make it to fade. If you don’t have super oily lids and you don’t touch your lids, the liner can easily stay up to 6 hours. The liner is not water proof, so if you tend to wash your face, it is gone. This is not a good point but it at least makes it easy to remove.

Cons of NYX Liquid Eyeliner in Navy:

Would I Repurchase NYX Liquid Eyeliner in Navy?

For me, this particular shade was a 50-50 product for me. I liked some points, but disliked some other, so I will not buy this particular shade again, but I may try some other color from this range.

Do I Recommend NYX Liquid Eyeliner in Navy?

If you like matte finish liners, you can go for this one, but if you are someone like me who likes a glossy finish, this is not for you.

IMBB Rating:

2.5/5 (for this particular shade), 3.5/5 (for the product).
