My Experience with NYX Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick Brooklyn Thorn:

The packaging of the lipstick is nice. It comes in a long, cylindrical, color-coded plastic tube with a black cap. There is a typical doe-foot applicator attached with the cap. The applicator is soft and its sharp edges help to achieve precise application. The applicator wand is long and gives total control over lipstick application. The brand name and other details about the product are printed on the tube. The shade name is also mentioned on the side of the tube. The color-coded packaging helps to easily spot the shade in makeup stash. The cap fits pretty securely making it leak proof and travel friendly. Overall, the packaging is strong and travel friendly.

Normally, I pick more n*des, reds, corals and pinks, but this time, I have hauled a lot of different shades like purples, mauves and browns.

“Brooklyn Thorn” is a mauvish-brown kind of shade has a slightly greyish hue. This is such a unique shade and it is a cool choice for winters. The shade is loud but if can go out of your comfort zone and carry this shade, it is going to look stunning on the lips. The lipstick is absolutely free from any shimmer and it sets to a gorgeous semi-matte finish. It neither looks glossy nor super matte.

It brightens up the complexion and makes my skin look fairer. The formula is decently pigmented and requires at least two swipes for an even, smooth and streak-free finish. It gives an opaque coverage and hides the pigmentation of my lips.

The texture of the lipstick is to die for. It has a whipped cream type of texture, which glides effortlessly on the lips, like a dream. It is super soft, smooth and creamy. Therefore, it feels comfortable on the lips. The applicator picks up the right amount of the product required for one application. It has a lightweight formula but I can still feel the presence of the lipstick on the lips. There is no glossiness in the formula of the lipstick, but it stays slightly creamy and does not dry out completely to an ultra-matte transfer proof finish. It does not cling to dry patches of the lips, but still I suggest prepping the lips well before applying any matte lipstick to get healthy and smooth-looking lips. The formula is slightly moisturizing, so it is important to moisturize the lips well. The lipstick does not smear or feather even upon layering. It does not settles into the fine lines of my lips initially, but after a heavy meal, the color fades away from the center and it settles into the fine lines of the lips. It does transfer a little and is not completely transfer proof.

The longevity of the lipstick is somewhere around 5-6 hours on my lips with little sipping of water and little snacking. It can survive light meals as well with slight fading, but it does fade from the center of the lips after having a full meal. This is very easy to remove with a makeup remover wipe and does not stain the lips.
