NYX is one of those brands which offers amazing quality products at an affordable price. I mean even if you go wrong with some products there is not much of a financial loss. Also it is very good for people starting off into the makeup world. Today’s palette is one of those that I bought to get better at eye makeup and not have to spend so much money on.

There are a total of 3 eye shadows in rectangular pot slots packaged in a sleek black eye shadow palette. It has a see through top which enables easy identification of the colors. A two sided applicator is also provided in the palette. It opens and shuts with a click.
Claims:

Inspired by the non-stop action of this exotic city, these 3 color eye shadow palettes give you go anywhere intensity day or night thanks to their highly pigmented formulations. Hit the beach in natural nudes, and then dance the night away with a shimmering sweep of color from the dual ended applicator.
Artist’s tips: Use the new NYX dual ended custom designed eye shadow applicator or your favorite eye shadow brush to create a variety of eye expressions. One side of the applicator has a large sponge applicator for covering more of the eye area easily while narrow side of the applicator lines and defines smaller areas of the eye for finer details.
My Experience with NYX Love in Rio Eye Shadow Palette – Mo Rockin’ Beats:
L-R White, Silver and Black
The first eye shadow is an ivory white shade. It has a very soft texture and is easy to apply. It is basically matte and gives a smooth finish. Pigmentation is great. It is not at all chalky or dry. This one can be used as a base for darker eye shadows or for highlighting the brow bone or even to add a pop to the inner corner of the eyes.
The second shade is a beautiful shimmery pure silver color. This shade too is very soft in texture and gives a smooth shimmery finish. There are fine shimmer particles which are not very chunky and also does not look too flashy. The pigmentation is awesome and the intensity can be built up as required.
The third shade is a black color. This one is not a jet black color and gives a matte finish. This one has no shimmer particles and seems a little dry. If we try to build up the intensity it might get cakey. Also there is a little fallout for this shade. The pigmentation is ok, not that great.
All the three shades are easily blendable. The staying power is ok too. It would last for like 3-4 hours. These shades might crease on oily lids and using a good primer would be advisable. These three shades are in no way waterproof. The applicators seem to be of no use either. They pick up extra product and do not completely deposit it on eyelids thus wasting it.
