Hello friends!
Hope all of you are doing fine! NYX Butter Glosses are world famous and hence, when I received one as a gift, I was literally jumping like a kid. However, my happiness got turned into slight disappointment upon opening the shade and trying it out on my lips! I got the shade “Maple Blondie”, a milky bubble gum pink gloss which is tricky for my pale skin. Moreover, it never gives me uniform color payoff on lips. Let’s read further to know more about NYX Butter Gloss in Maple Blondie today!
Product Description:
Buttery soft and silky smooth, our scrumptious new Butter Lip Gloss tastes as sweet as a sugar cookie—and makes your lips look downright luscious. Swipe it on alone or over your favorite lipstick for creamy sheer to medium coverage that melts onto your lips and is never sticky.

My Experience with NYX Maple Blondie Butter Gloss:
The Butter Gloss comes in, as usual, a sturdy opaque plastic tube packaging with long doe foot applicator attached to the cap. I adore its opaque pink packaging. It does not have very significant fragrance. Overall, I find it quite user friendly & travel friendly.
The shade, Maple Blondie, seems a milky pink shade as I said earlier. I find it slightly tricky to pull on my pale skin, though it looks good at times when my skin is tanned or bit darker than usual. I can still manage with the shade, but the texture of the gloss is such that it gives very uneven finish on my lips even with multiple swipes.
I still had no issues with its thick and sticky nature, but somehow the gloss tends to look blotchy or uneven on my lips and I fear it might accentuate dry or patchy areas of the lips apart from settling around the corners of my lips upon multiple swipes. However, I find it very hydrating as I feel well moisturized & juicy lips for good hours, but the pigmentation and finish are major disappointments.
The staying power is quite decent; it stays for 3-4 hours if we skip meals while it fades completely after one heavy meal. I find it tricky for dry lips and pigmented lips as well considering the uneven, sheer coverage which looks very odd, at times. Though, I feel supple and soft lips even after removing it, it is of no use if the pigmentation and finish are not up to the mark, which is sadly not up to mark in this case.
Moreover, I find most pastel, milky shades are tricky for my pale skin, other than that, its streaky application bothers me a lot too. I won’t recommend it to you, still if you are fan of Butter Glosses and love milky pink shades, you might give it a try!

Let’s sum up pros and cons:
Pros of NYX Maple Blondie Butter Gloss:
• A milky pink, semi-opaque, shimmer free gloss
• The gloss is quite thick and sticky, but for good
• It keeps lips hydrated for good hours even after removing it
• The staying power is decent, i.e. 3-4 hours
• The gloss does not cause any tingling sensation or irritation on our lips
• It does not accentuate dry lips issue nor does it cause any dryness
• It does not sink into lip lines
• Quite sleek, slender doe foot applicator along with user friendly & travel friendly packaging
Cons of NYX Maple Blondie Butter Gloss:
• The shade is tricky for our Indian pale/fair skin tone
• The gloss comes up streaky, uneven on our lips
• It gives sheer to semi-opaque finish which is a big nay for pigmented lips
• Staying power could have been better
Well, I am not impressed with the gloss, though I like how moisturizing it is for our lips. But, it is of no use as the finish isn’t up to the mark. Probably, I would try another shade from this range, but this is a skip for everyone. I am definitely not getting it again.

Oh my god i cant imagine this shade on my lips..neetu it looks good on u though…i have this in angel food cake..even that shade applies uneven..
True mini… Guess Many such shades r similar in finish n texture. Wtever I love color elixir type glosses not this one. 🙂
Sad you got a not so flattering shade, they do have some better shades. But, they mostly look like tinted lip balms and don’t give high pigmentation. But, Neetu the shade still looks good on you. 🙂
Sheer finish is okay shikha but uneven patchy finish makes it tricky knw. 🙂 I HV tried so many sheer to moderate coverage glosses from other brands but this unevn finish is new to me which I didn’t like.
Well, the shade is alright here not for Indian skin tones, like you said. In the swatch only I can see how opaque and streaky it looks. Anyways I am a matte lover and glossy shade are a big no no for me. I like it’s simple packaging though 😛
Yeah packing is full on full though finish n texture of gloss is simply unimaginable :p
I loved the color in the tube actually Neets 🙂
