NYX Matte Lipstick – Sierra Review

NYX Matte Lipstick – Sierra

I’m not a lipstick girl, 95% of my makeup is on my eyes. But I am experimenting with lipsticks and currently I’m hooked on peachy-lipstick-shade-phase. Nude lipsticks can wash you out, finding perfect pink lipstick is not easy, reds are too bold but a peach lippie is likely to suit everyone. I was hunting for a peach lipstick with no shine and completely matte finish. I ended up purchasing “NYX Matte Lipstick-Sierra” which was recommended by one of my friends.

NYX Matte Lipsticks are highly pigmented, richly formulate, non-drying and long-wearing. The formula glides on smoothly and stays put with a non-drying matte finish.

My Experience with NYX Matte Lipstick – Sierra

NYX matte lipstick comes in a matte black bullet tube and with a black cap on top. The packaging is not very attractive but it is durable because I once dropped it and it didn’t break. You can carry it along in the purse without worrying about accidents. The lipstick is fragrance-free which is a good thing for those who have a sensitive nose. Ingredient list is also mentioned on the packaging.

Sierra is a perfect peach lipstick and it’s very girly and good for daily use. The shade has more pink undertones than coral so it will look different on everyone depending on your natural lip color. I don’t have pigmented lips and it looks peachy pink on my lips. The lipstick is completely matte and it doesn’t have any sheen or shimmers in it. I think the shade is universally flattering, whether you are fair, dusky or medium, you can carry off this shade fabulously.

The shade is pigmented in just a single swipe. Both the color and the finish are matte so if you like lipsticks that have a sheen or glossy finish then this range isn’t for you. I have seen that some matte lipsticks are difficult to apply but this one applies smoothly without any tugging. It goes opaque in two swipes. It’s a little drying on my lips so wearing a lip balm is necessary. I would recommend using a lip balm beneath to keep lips hydrated. If you have extremely dry lips then you can also use lip primer. The formula isn’t transferable so you don’t need to blot it. Once on and ready to go, I got around 5 hours of wear out of it which is very good. It doesn’t survive a full meal and but with light meals it stays with slight fading.

The description describes these lipsticks perfectly.
Highly pigmented? Yes
Rich formulation?Yes
Long wearing?Yes
Non-drying?No, they are little bit drying but all matte lipsticks are.

Overall, I am impressed with this lipstick and I will definitely grab more shades from the range. This lipstick is a steal at this price.
