NYX Mosaic Powder Blush in Paradise Review

NYX Mosaic Powder Blush in Paradise Review

Hi everyone!

I am back with another blush review, this time for a NYX Mosaic Powder Blush in the shade “Paradise.” Paradise is one of the popular shades from this line as it has various shades of pinks.

The idea of a NYX Mosaic Powder Blush is quite intriguing. Every mosaic blush consists of 5 shades in the pan that can be used either on their own or combined together to achieve multiple shades of blushes. Paradise has 5 shades of pinks ranging from a very light baby pink to a deep dark reddish pink.

What I Love about NYX Mosaic Powder Blush in Paradise:

• From the 12 shades of NYX Mosaic Powder blushes, Paradise is one of the colors that fits the conventional pinkish blush idea. It is a wonderful assortment of light pinks to medium pinks to deep reddish pink.

NYX Mosaic Powder Blush

• Paradise can be customized to create either a natural pink glow or a deeper color for an intense look. The 3 lighter colors can be swirled together for a pink look even for the fairest of us and the deeper colors work for when we want more color.
• Every color in the pan is extremely pigmented.

NYX Mosaic Powder Blush Swatches

(Swatches of the individual squares of colors).

• A natural blush look can be achieved by swirling a fluffy brush lightly on all the colors.
• Even though the blush is shimmery, it has just the perfect amount of shimmer. The shimmer is very fine and not glittery at all. I personally feel that with the mosaic powder blushes, a little amount of shimmer actually helps in achieving a natural look. A matte blush with 5 different colors can look like a color block on the cheeks.
• The texture is very smooth and not chalky at all. For a mosaic blush, it’s imperative that the colors can be blended together really well and this blush doesn’t disappoint at all.
• This same blush can be used in the daytime as well as for night looks. Using more of the lighter colors or swirling the brush in all the 5 colors lightly achieves the perfect natural look while using more of the deeper shades makes the blush darker for dramatic looks.
• Paradise will look good on almost all Indian skin tones.

NYX Mosaic Powder Blush on Cheeks

(This is how a couple of swirls look on the cheeks. For more of an everyday look, I use just one swirl of all the colors.)

• The staying power of this blush is amazing. It stays on without fading for a whole day and even when it starts fading, the impact is uniform .
• The packaging is almost like MAC’s blush, easy to carry while travelling.

What I Don’t Like about NYX Mosaic Powder Blush in Paradise:

• Price is $8. When I purchased it over a year back, NYX was a much more affordable brand than it is today. I don’t think I paid more than 5 bucks for this blush and with so many pink blushes in the market, the price seems a little steep.
• Not for someone who prefers matte blushes.
• To pick a particular color from the pan, a small brush or a finger is required. A fluffy brush will not be able to pick the small size individual colors.
• Since the colors are so pigmented, it is very easy to overdo the blush. A very light-handed application is required. This particular shade is not forgiving if you apply too much.
• The red square is extremely pigmented and cannot be used as a blush on its own.
• No mirror.
• Even though the individual colors can be used as eyeshadows, I just don’t see myself using these shades of pinks on the eyes.

Rating:

3.5 out of 5.

I really like the Mosaic powder blushes from NYX and Paradise is really pretty. However, with such a pigmented blush, there’s a fine line between looking naturally flushed from within to looking like a clown. I recommend it; however, word of caution with Paradise is to use a light hand and a fluffy brush. I have quite a few blushes in my collection, so I don’t see myself running out of this anytime soon. However, not sure if I would be repurchasing this particular shade as for $8, it’s no longer as cheap as it was before and I am sure I would be able to find a much cheaper alternative.

I’m thinking to buy this…but so confused with big list of shades.with these blushes we can improvise to get 2-3 diff shades of blush for day and night’s diff looks..

nice review …but still looking for THE ONE shade for me

    1. i really like the mosaic blush in “Love”…dont know if u have seen it but its a medley of oranges and corals…its gorgeous…if u havent, u shud try it because i am more into peaches and corals than pinks!

    2. i really like the mosaic blush in “Love”…dont know if u have seen it but its a medley of oranges and corals…its gorgeous…if u havent, u shud try it because i am more into peaches and corals than pinks! maybe u’d like it too

  2. The colors looking really veryyyy attractive and are damn pigmented, i am loving the shade you get after blending all on your cheek but this is some how pronounching your pores ! isnt it?thts what i dont like about blushes and illuminators

    1. yeah taps that is an issue but only when u look at from a really close distance. pics mein waise hi sab pronounced lagta haina…in real life, itna bura nahi hai 🙂

      1. I felt the same patas bt I guess what bahavna is saying is right. It’s like a super close shot of cheek and you know if probably anyone takes that close a shot it would some how look like this. Everyone has pores on skin naa.. :)) It is slightly accentuating the pores coz of the shimmers bt I guess as a whole it does look quite pretty. Like a fresh morning glow kinda pink. I like. :))

  3. Bhawana…..these type of shimmer blushes work on you very well……. :waytogo: :waytogo: :waytogo: :waytogo: :waytogo: :waytogo: I think what is needed is flawless skin also :jaiho: :jaiho: :jaiho: :jaiho: :jaiho: :jaiho:

  4. I so agree with you on this..you definitely need a very light hand and just one swipe and it should be enough as the pigmentation is quite nice..but little bit more and you can end up looking like a clown

    1. hehe yes parita :)..also in the pic, i hv not completely blended it out to give a better indication of the colors..a couple of swirls more and it would have been clownish

  5. great review bhawna.. n yess this blush is luking awesum by ur review n swatches.. the best thing is getting diff shades in a single pack :yahoo: :yahoo: ..
