I have been trying out n*de lip colors for long, but sadly, I end up picking shades that wash out my skin tone. The “Matte Lipstick” range from NYX has 45 pretty shades, but I don’t know why I ended up picking the wrong one. This is one addition to my collection of the lip shades that wash me out, very sorry for the yucky lip swatch 😛 Scroll down to see how it actually looks on my lips and more details.

My Experience with NYX Nude Matte Lipstick:
Packaging: The lipstick comes in a black tube, it’s a basic packaging but looks nice. The shade name is mentioned at the bottom. The middle band reveals the color of the lipstick which makes it easy to spot the shade if you own quite a few shades from this range. The lipstick cap closes with a click and would not open up in the bag accidentally. This lipstick is available at $6 which is quite a good price for the quality. This range has 45 freaking shades! Can you believe it? I wish I had picked a few more from this range. The twist-up mechanism works fine hence no flaws with the packaging at all.
Shade: I have this craze for n*de shades, but out of all the shades available, I picked up a n*de that totally washed me out. Trust me, I look like a clown with this on my lips. This n*de shade looks stark white on me. I look like those cricket umpires who stand on the cricket field with the white thingy applied on their lips. This shade in particular is not made for the Indian skin tone as it makes the complexion look 10 times darker. This will be apt for American or British skin tones.
Pigmentation/Texture/Finish: The lipstick glides very smoothly on my lips. It does not dry out my lips at any point. The initial creamy texture helps to keep my lips hydrated, but if you have very chapped and dry lips, then you might need a lip balm beneath. The pigmentation is just amazing. The color perfectly comes out on my lips and I wish I had picked a good colour. The color stays as it is for hours. The finish is super matte, just as the name suggests. It looks very classy and rich.
Staying Power: The lipstick stays for 5-6 hours with the still fresh for 2 hours. From then on, the intensity gradually decreases a bit. The color will come off a bit with food intake since the color is light, but I think the other bold and bright shades from this range will stay intact. This is a really good range to try, but the n*des are not that great for Indian skin tones.
