I was already in love with warm rustic shades and then NYX launched this beautiful palette called Rustic Antique in its ‘Perfect Filter Shadow Palette’ range. Now, let’s find out more about it.

My Experience with NYX Perfect Filter Shadow Palette Rustic Antique:

Packaging:
NYX Perfect Filter Shadow Palette comes in a very normal black plastic box with a clear lid. It looks very simple and is super lightweight. Hence, it is easy to carry around. But there is no mirror and applicator provided with the packaging, so I have to carry a separate mirror when I am travelling. Since the palette is a little expensive I feel the brand should have provided a mirror with it. I feel the packaging is a little cheap for the price I paid.

Shades and Pigmentation:
This palette contains 10 beautiful shades and all the shades have a nice warm undertone, which goes with all skin tones. This is a rustic palette, so most of the shades have a nice touch of rustic tone to them and that’s why I love this one. Such shades are super trendy and look perfect on the eyes. It has three full-on shimmery shades, four matte shades and two shades are in between these two finishes. I really like the shade range and different finishes.

Now, let’s talk about each shade individually:
Shade 1: This is a beautiful matte cream-white shade.
Shade 2: A gorgeous full-on matte maroon shade. I love the warm shade.
Shade 3: This is a perfect nude brown transition shade and, again, a full matte one.
Shade 4: A gorgeous shimmery warm brown toned gold shade.
Shade 5: It is a shimmery peachy beige shade.
Shade 6: This is beautiful rustic deep peach shade with a brown tone. It has some noticeable golden shimmer but the texture is quite matte.
Shade 7: This is full matte beautiful peachy orange shade. It’s a super fresh summery color that I love a lot.
Shade 8: It’s a shimmery reddish copper rustic shade and again a beautiful shade.
Shade 9: It is the darkest shade in this palette and it’s a dark plum brown shade with shimmer.
Shade 10: The final shade is a pretty cranberry shade with finely milled shimmer. Also, the texture is quite matte as well. But it is pretty similar to shade 2; just that this one looks more cranberry as it has a pink tone to it.

These shades are super pigmented, especially the deeper shades need only one swipe for full color payoff. These shades provide a beautiful intensity of color on the eyes. You can also easily layer up the colors to make them bold. It is a beautiful palette to use during this festive time. I mean such shades look so pretty with ethnic as well as western outfits.

Texture and Quality:
This palette has both shimmery and matte textures and every shade has a super smooth and soft formula that blends very well on the eyes. These shadows give a flawless and even look on the eyes and don’t feel patchy at all. I love such matte formulas as they blend so easily and give a beautiful, natural finish. Also, the shimmery shades contain micro-shimmers that never look overpowering on the eyes.

The texture feels comfortable and lightweight. These shadows don’t feel chalky or powdery. I really like the quality of this palette. Just one peach shade feels slightly powdery and expect that all the other shades are really good. A few shades fall out a little during application, so I prefer to do my eye makeup first. Otherwise, they don’t transfer and never turn messy on the eyes.

Staying Power:
Now, coming to the staying power, these shades last long on the eyes. The dark shades stay for around 7-8 hours nicely and other shades also have a good staying power. Still, it’s better to use a primer underneath to avoid creasing.

Overall:
This is a super trendy eyeshadow palette that contains so many beautiful shades. Everyone is totally into peach, maroon and rusty shades these days and here you are getting all these amazing shades in one palette. So for me it’s a great deal and I love the formula as well.
