NYX Perfect Red Matte Lipstick Review

I love NYX matte lipsticks especially for bold shades! Although they have been around for years, I discovered them just a few weeks ago, and since then I am obsessed with them. I have “Pure Red,” which has already been reviewed on IMBB, and I will be reviewing “Perfect Red” today. This retails for INR 625 and is available online too. It’s the best formulated lipstick in this price range. I saw a few pictures stating that this is a dupe for MAC’s Ruby Woo. Now, let’s see whether that’s true or not?

My Experience with NYX Perfect Red Matte Lipstick:

This lipstick comes housed in a black velvety plastic case, which is transparent in the middle and you can view the color of the lipstick by looking at the tube itself.

The brand name is printed in the front and the shade name and number are mentioned on the bottom. The bullet has a unique shape, which is quite interesting and makes application precise and easy.

The texture of this lipstick is really nice and smooth. It is very long lasting on the lips. The shade “Perfect Red” is truly a perfect red lipstick. It’s a bit on a cooler side, but it’s highly pigmented.

So, this is a dupe for MAC’s Ruby Woo, period! I have both and the only difference between the two lipsticks is that Ruby Woo is more drying while “Perfect Red” is comfortable.

MAC Ruby Woo on half lip and NYX Perfect Red on the other half:

It stays on perfectly well through talking and drinking, and fades evenly after eating. It leaves a nice stain after fading. It’s a bit more creamier than the retro matte finish by MAC, but still stiff than a normal creamy lipstick. It goes on smoothly and dries to a matte finish.
