NYX Pro Lip Cream Palette – The Nudes Review

By Priya S.

Hello gorgeous ladies,

Guess what guys? NYX has recently launched some awesome lip palettes called the NYX Pro Lip Cream Palettes in 4 colour families – The Nudes, The Reds, The Plums and The Pinks. I had been drooling over these palettes since I first saw them on Instagram and finally a recent trip to my local Shopper’s Drugmart paid off. I saw these babies sitting in the “New” section of NYX products. Needless to say, I picked up all the shades! Today, I will be reviewing the palette “The Nudes” from this NYX lip palette. I know you guys are excited, so let’s just start.

My Experience with NYX Pro Lip Cream Palette – The Nudes:

I am pretty sure that this NYX Pro Lip Cream Palette in The Nudes is going to become a favourite of all since everyone likes neutral and n*de shades and this palette is a gorgeous collection of such shades. I am really impressed that NYX took care of everyone’s preferences while designing this palette and choosing shades that would suit all.
Neutral lip palette

Packaging: Does the packaging of the NYX lip palette remind you of anything? Yes, you’re right! It looks exactly like the MAC Pro Lip Palettes. NYX didn’t even care to change the name of their lip palettes, :P! This lip palette is quite sturdy with a clear lid. Inside the palette, there are 6 pans where lip shades are placed that belong to the same colour family, in this case – n*des. It does not come with a mirror or lip brush which is quite a concern for me, considering that this is more suitable for travelling, but nonetheless, this palette looks super expensive and classy.

Color: There are 6 gorgeous shades in this lip palette, all belonging to the neutral n*de family. The sad part is that there are no names for these shades, there are only shade numbers. There is quite a lovely shade selection of neutral toned n*des and browns in this NYX Lip Palette which will be suitable for all skin tones. I am pretty sure you can find a match for your skin tone and if you’re not happy with the shades given, you have a colour palette of 6 shades to mix and match to find your perfect shade.

Pigmentation: I have tried lip palettes in the past but they all failed in terms of pigmentation. I feel that individual lipstick bullets work best, but this baby here proved me wrong! The pigmentation of these lipsticks is awesome. They are all much pigmented and the best thing is that they can be built up according to your preference, without feeling heavy or goopy. You can go for a sheer look by applying these shades with your fingers and also go for a fuller colour payoff by applying these with a lip brush.

Texture: I would say the texture of these lipsticks is just perfect. These are neither too creamy to slide off or feather away, nor too dry to go on patchy or flaky on the lips. The lipsticks in this NYX palette are creamy enough for staying on the lips and moisturizing them to a certain extent. It gives a semi-glossy finish to the lips which looks gorgeous and gives an illusion of healthy lips.

Longevity: Another amazing feature of these lipsticks is that these are quite long lasting. In spite of its creamy-ish glossy finish, it lasts on the lips for at least 5 to 6 hours with a little bit of snacks and beverages. It also leaves a tint behind which I really enjoy, so impressive!!

Quality: I am in love ladies! This lip palette has got me hooked on to it so badly that I can’t get over it. I believe after L’Oreal took over NYX, the quality and packaging of NYX products has considerably improved. Well, I can’t deny the fact that NYX’s prices are also more like L’Oreal now, but for the product quality and performance, I can neglect that.

Would I Recommend/Repurchase NYX Pro Lip Cream Palette – The Nudes?
Absolutely ladies! I haven’t tried the MAC Pro Lip Palettes yet and now I don’t even feel the need to try them out for a whopping $40 when I love these NYX Pro Cream Lip Palettes so much. I am anyway not a huge fan of MAC lipsticks. Please don’t kill me for this, but I have other lipstick formulations that I absolutely adore and this NYX palette is sure one of them. Do try it out ladies, it can be a perfect palette for the colour family that you like.

    1. Exactly Jomol!! When I first saw this, I passed by considering it to be the NYX concealer palette. Then I realised it was in the “lip section” Lolzzz
