NYX Radiant Finishing Powder – Brighten
Summer makes my oily skin even more oilier and the only way to keep oil at bay is by using powder again and again 😛 so recently in USA I hoarded a lot of different types of finishing powders and during my powder shopping I came across the multicolored powder from NYX which claims to be color correcting (CC you know like CC creams). But in reality did it work as a Color correcting powder or not read on to find more.
What Product Claims:
• What it is: All-over color correcting pressedpowder.
• What it does:Brightens and evens out skin tone.
• Why we love it: The color combination works best to brighten and highlight the desired areas of the face perfectly.
• How to use: Lightly dust over face with large fluffy brush.
My experience with NYX Radiant Finishing Powder – Brighten:
This multi-colored finishing powder has 6 color powders in it. There is one shimmering white shade which actually gives the glow to skin because of the fine shimmer in it. However the shimmer is not chunky or overwhelming, it never looks over the top. Other 5 shades are Green, Yellow, Pink, Blue and Violet. All these shades are completely matte. But on skin when all the 5 shades applied together it just gives a single shade which brightens the skin. It makes skin look even tone and works well as a finishing powder. I use it with my elf powder brush, I swirl the brush on the powder and then apply on face. It makes my face look brighter as its name suggests. The shimmer is not noticeable, even for flash photography it does not make skin look shiny/glittery.
As a setting powder it should make the makeup last longer which it does. On oil control part, it does control oil for 2-3 hours and not more than that which could have been improved. Talking about the texture of this powder, it is very finally milled which feels very soft and smooth on skin, it is also very light-weight on skin.
It comes in a plastic container and it is travel friendly. However a mirror attached on the lid could have been even better but that’s not a big issue. It works well for fair to medium skin tone, for darker skin tone I will recommend using sunkissed shade of NYX Radiant Finishing Powder. By the way the shade brighten is considered as the dupe for Bobby Brown Brightening finishing powder. The arrangement of 6 color powders looks exactly same for both the products. So if not anything else then at least this being a dupe of Bobbi Brown finishing powder will motivate you to try this powder 😛 However I highly recommend this to people looking for a skin brightening HD finishing powder without spending a lot of money for same.
Pros of NYX Radiant Finishing Powder – Brighten:
• Brightens skin.
• Gives glow to skin without looking too glittery.
• Evens out the skin.
• Does oil control to some extent.
• Travel friendly packaging.
• Not expensive.
Cons of NYX Radiant Finishing Powder – Brighten:
• No applicator or mirror given.
• Oil control could have been better.
IMBB Rating: 4.25/5
