Hello dear friends! Hope you all are doing fine.

If you are regular in the IMBB community, you might have noticed that I have contributed mostly on lip colors till now. I would also like to thank you all for the great comments you  have been showering. I feel amazing and also feel connected with so many people in this virtual community.

But today, I have eyeliner for you all. The liner is from the brand NYX. We know how great NYX products are and how affordable most of them are. But what if you get the stuff from this brand at 50% off? Just grab and run! Yes, I went to the NYX counter to buy a gorgeous golden color called Glitzy Gold. But unfortunately that was not available. At the same time, fortunately, there was 50% off on the NYX retractable eyeliners. What to do, I had  to buy a few. I picked up 2 unique shades, Purple being one of them. Let’s see how it fared.

My Experience with NYX Retractable Eye Liner – Purple

Packaging – The NYX retractable eye liner in  Purple comes in a retractable pencil, same color as the eyeliner. This makes it easy to  locate  in the stash. The cap fits well on to the pencil and it is convenient to carry around. The color swivels smoothly without any problem.

Color – Now coming to the color, “Purple” is a lovely purple and very different from the regular eggplant color liners. I liked the fact that it does not have simmer in it. The other purples I had earlier had shimmers, which sometimes caused irritation to my eyes.

Texture and pigmentation– In order to get the color completely on your lids, you might need to swipe it 2-3 times. The pigmentation department is not great. The liner is not very creamy, to the extent that it breaks but, it is just enough creamy to glide over your eyelids.

Longevity – The eye liner once applied stays in place for around 5-6 hours, after which it starts fading. It didn’t transfer to my lower lid,  it also doesn’t smudge. I don’t have extremely oily lids, so can’t say how it will perform on girls with oily skin.

Pros of NYX Retractable Eye Liner – Purple

1) Convenient packaging as you can just toss it into your purse and roam around without any issue.
2) The consistency of the color is just enough to glide on the eyelid. So, no worries of breakage and wastage.
3) Affordable. Specially, considering that these days, brands like Lakme are also coming out with eye liners of 600 – 700 bucks.
4) NYX eyeliners are available in most of the stores and online too
5) No sharpening required or wastage due to it. I always love the twist up ones more than wooden pencils.

Cons of NYX Retractable Eye Liner – Purple

1) I wish the color was more pigmented.

Would you repurchase NYX Retractable Eye Liner – Purple?

Yes. This color is something which I did not have in my stash. I will be happy to buy it again. But considering I am more of a black/brown eyeliner person, this will last me long enough.

IMBB Rating – 4.5 (- .5 for pigmentation department).
