NYX Round Lipstick – Terra Cotta Review

Today, I will be reviewing another lip product from my collection and it is from NYX. I always had my eyes on NYX’s round lipsticks but never got a chance to select the one I wanted and so after a long wait, I bought a shade called Terra Cotta.

Price:

Rs. 395 for 4 gm.

Packaging:

These lipsticks come in a black cylindrical packaging with a little colored section at the base. The colored section resembles the color of the lipstick and is nothing but a colored gel kind of a thing. The base comes off once the lipstick falls from a decent height (my lipstick fell from the bed), but it is easy to re-fix the base.

My Take on NYX Round Lipstick – Terra Cotta:

Color and Pigmentation: Terra Cotta is a shade of brown with minute-sized shimmer and no frostiness. I picked this shade for my mother as I don’t apply browns, but when I tried this, I found it pretty decent for girls as well. It is a color that is easily buildable, one swipe and the lips are colored with a rusty brown shade, but if you want a deeper brown, two coats give a beautiful brown, a little more color can make the lips look even more brown. It all depends on how much you apply and which kind of color you desire.  Coming to the shimmer, these are not visible when a full coat of color is applied, but when the color starts fading, or little silver particles start twinkling, that was the time I came to know that it actually contains shimmers.

Texture:  I wanted to try these lipsticks because I heard many good things about these, and the most frequent thing people said was about the texture. After trying this, I am completely sold out on the texture, it is so smooth and soft to apply, that it almost takes no effort in applying the lipstick. It is a non-sticky formula which also moisturizes lips. I hate sticky lip products and so this one gains extra points.

Staying Power:

The color transfers very easily and thus the staying power is not so amazing. Without eating anything, the color may stay up to 3 hours on lips, but even some little snacking greatly effects the intensity of the color. The color does not last a meal, it does not even stain lips which makes an immediate reapplication necessary.

Pros of NYX Round Lipstick – Terra Cotta:

• Beautiful shade.
• Amazing smooth texture.
• Applies effortlessly.
• Moisturizes lips.
• Affordable.
• Non sticky.
• Super cute packaging (it is so comfortable to recognize the color due to the colored section at the base).

Cons of NYX Round Lipstick – Terra Cotta:

• Very low staying power.
• It also has a weird kind of fragrance which is something different, it is not so strong, but may bother people who don’t like their lip products to have any kind of fragrance.

Would I Repurchase NYX Round Lipstick – Terra Cotta?

Yes! There are so many shades that I would love to get and it’s not even highly priced, so I would definitely buy many more shades from this range.

Would I Recommend NYX Round Lipstick – Terra Cotta?

Yes! It’s an excellent product in an affordable range. We do have many great lipsticks from many different brands, but very few re reasonably priced.
