NYX Single Eyeshadow in Copper Review

NYX Single Eyeshadow in Copper Review

Hi Everyone,

I was looking for a nice festive eyeshadow in my stash the other day and found a brilliant one, which is just right for the festive season – it’s the NYX Single Eyeshadow in the shade Copper. NYX has impressed me time and again as far as their eyeshadows are concerned – because of their shades, quality, and price. Let’s go and check this one out.

NYX Single Eyeshadow in Copper Review

Price:

Rs. 550 – bought online.

Packaging:

For those of you who have seen or used these before, it comes in a nice sturdy, square box with a beautiful diamond like pattern. The lid closes firmly and it is very travel-friendly.

Copper Eyeshadow 1

Shade:

Copper – as the name suggests is a true orangish-copper color with shimmer. The shade is beautiful for Indian skin tones and it would look fabulous on fair, medium, or dusky tones. The shimmer is not chunky or obvious and adds the right amount of metallic sheen and festive touch to your eyes. For some reason, this shade reminds me of Arabian Nights and Arabic belly dancers.

Copper Eyeshadow 2

It has a fair amount of orangish tinge to it and looks beautiful when paired with colors like Cranberry (MAC) or black to create a smoky eye. It looks more reddish copper when used on a black base.

Swatches:

Copper Eyeshadow 3

Indoor lighting

Copper 4

Natural Light

Copper 5

It looks lighter in the swatches than it actually is.

Texture:

NYX is truly impressive for the quality of their eyeshadows. This is superbly pigmented, glides on my lids like a dream and very smooth and even to apply. I have no problems in blending it at all. The color, even when applied without a primer is very pigmented and vibrant. The texture is somewhat similar to the MAC Veluxe Pearl finish eyeshadows.

Staying Power:

The only complaint I have for this eyeshadow is the staying power. When used with a primer, it stays on my lids for about 6 -7 hours after which it starts creasing. Without a primer, it starts creasing after 3-4 hours. There’s also a difference in the staying power depending on what primer you are using – the staying power is more when used with UDPP versus the Essence primer.

Pros of NYX Single Eyeshadow in Copper:

  • Gorgeous true copper shade that is great for all skin tones. Would look fabulous on brides or when worn during the festive season.
  • Superb pigmentation.
  • Very versatile shade and can be paired with cranberry, black, green, or dark brown depending on the time of the day.
  • Smooth, creamy texture and blends like a dream.
  • Very minimal fallout.
  • Lovely packaging that is travel-friendly too!
  • I like the price for what I get.

Cons of NYX Single Eyeshadow in Copper:

  • Staying power isn’t great, especially without a primer. It creases after sometime as well.
  • Nothing other than that.

IMBB Rating:

4/5 – deducted 1 for the staying power.

Overall Verdict:

I would definitely recommend you to pick this shade because I think the shade is simply gorgeous. It would look fantastic with ethnic wear for the festive season and the best thing is it would look great on all skin tones. Do give it a try once.

Hope you liked the review. Till next time 🙂
