NYX Single Eyeshadow Deep Brown

My Experience with NYX Single Eyeshadow – Deep Brown:

I was looking for a good deep purple, eggplant sort of eyeshadow for a while, so thought of giving this shade a try which is very wrongly named “deep brown,” but is a gorgeous color nevertheless.  The shadow comes in a basic small black square packaging with a transparent lid, which shuts well. The packaging is quite boring but very sturdy and the transparent lid makes it easy to select between different shades. The shade name, ingredients and everything is mentioned on the back side, but is not visible due to price tag and date details.

NYX Single Eyeshadow Deep Brown

I do not know from which angle does this shade look like a deep brown or even a brown color in that case, NYX should definitely name their products properly as it can get very confusing, especially if one is ordering the shade online without having a look at the swatches, which sometimes many of us do 😛 The shade looks like a dark smokey purple in the pan and comes off like a deep eggplant color with some black and brown undertones. It is not at all bright and very easy to wear. The color is very neutral and has very tiny shimmers in it. The shimmer present is very finely milled and non gritty.

NYX Single Eyeshadow Deep Brown

The color is perfect to create a deep purple smokey eye or even for the crease, it is a great alternative from regular dark browns. The color will look good on all skin tones. The color really complements my dark brown eyes and I love this color.

The pigmentation is good since it’s a darker color, but the only problem is that it sheers out considerably upon blending and hence fades quickly. So, I need to layer it and pat it well to get intense color payoff.  When used on a primer, the color definitely intensifies.

NYX Single Eyeshadow Deep Brown

The texture is very smooth and slightly soft which creates a bit of fallout in the pan which is expected since it’s a darker shade but nothing much, it blends out easily.

On my oily eyelids, it lasts for 4 hours without a primer before it starts to crease and fade, but with a good primer, it stays intact for 6-7 hours, after which I notice some creasing.
