NYX Brand has always been a great affordable brand that I have turned to for years. So when I received this particular eyeshade, I was more than happy to add it to my makeup collection and literally waited anxiously for an opportunity to wear it out. Read on to see how I like it.

My Experience with NYX Single Eyeshadow in Velvet Suede

Velvet Suede, comes in the traditional NYX black plastic container. It has a clear top which is convenient to find while searching through all the makeup I have hoarded up. The color itself is a beautiful frosty light blue shade. At first glance, this color caught my eye, it was so sparkly and beautiful. Unfortunately, after actually applying it to the eyes it turns out to be more of a whitish gray shade. Which is a huge disappointment because I really loved the blue shade it claims to be. BUT, don’t get me wrong this shade is still great because it looks just as amazing when I am sporting a smokey eye look. Since I realized that it doesn’t show up as blue, I started using it as if it were a gray/white color and applying it to my inner eye lid area and it looks just fine. The color is very frosty and has subtle hints of shimmer which is just beautiful. The texture is very smooth and glides on very easily. I feel that it is fairly easy to blend with other colors and it is very easy to pair with other shades. It does give me a good amount of fallout but it isn’t anything that I cannot clean up. Aside from that, this shade lasts me a very long time. I once wore it all evening and night for a good 5-6 hours and it was almost the same as I had applied in the first place. Overall, this product is good aside from the color disappointment, but I cannot complain because I still use this regularly.

-Not true to color.
-Can give a lot of fallout.

Would I recommend NYX Single Eyeshadow in Velvet Suede?

I wouldn’t recommend this color if you are buying it by looking at this shade because you will definitely not get this exact color and instead be stuck with a totally different color that you did not expect.

Would I repurchase NYX Single Eyeshadow in Velvet Suede?

I highly doubt I would repurchase this because if I really wanted this color I would just buy a frosty white or gray shade instead.
