My Experience with NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream Berlin:

Packaging: I love the color-coordinated tube which helps distinguish the shade right off the bat. The shade name is mentioned via a sticker on the bottom of the tube.

Applicator: The wand is short and precise. It is a double-sided doe foot wand, so it picks up enough product for you to coat your entire lips with a single dip using both sides for a single coat.

Shade: “Berlin” is described as a matte warm brown color. It is a brown with a reddish undertone. Its looks very edgy and cool, it is stunning. Since it is warm toned, it will be flattering on most skin tones. It can also work as a n*de for darker skin tones. This particular shade went on smoothly with full opacity in one swipe.

Texture and Feel: The texture of this lip cream is quite pleasing. It feels featherlight on the lips, almost like a hybrid of a mousse and a cream which sets to a soft and matte look as it dries.
When I wear this, I totally forget the fact that I have something on my lips. For some on the deeper shades from this range, there is minimal transfer, but for the most part, it is transfer proof.

Pigmentation: While all shades I own have good pigmentation, I have noticed some apply streakier and dry patchier than others. I have found that the shades on the lightest end (some of the n*des and pastel shades) and the darkest end of the spectrum (some vampy shades and unconventional shades etc) from their range can be streaky and it can get very difficult to make them look even even with multiple coats. Most of the shades in the middle( pinks, reds , browns etc) perform fantastic.

Staying Power: This particular shade wore 6 hours before starting to fade. There was moderate amount of fading from the inside of the lips after a full meal which required a touch up.

Overall, I am impressed with this product and with this range, especially for this super affordable price tag, but I would urge you to read reviews for the shades you are eyeing as the performance is not consistent across the board for all shades.

As for this particular shade, it is very beautiful and flattering and if you are looking for a good chocolate brown lip color, this could be a great affordable pick.
