My Experience with NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream Sydney:

Packaging: I love the color-coordinated tube that helps to distinguish the shade right off the bat. The shade name is mentioned via a sticker on the bottom of the tube.

Applicator: The wand is short and precise. It is a double-sided doe-foot wand, so it picks up enough product for you to coat your entire lips with a single dip using both sides.

Texture and Feel: I love the texture of these lip creams. True to its name, it feels almost like a hybrid of a mousse and a cream and with a slight satin sheen initially which sets to a soft matte look as it dries. This lip cream feels featherlight on the lips. When I wear this lip cream, I totally forget the fact that I have something on my lips, it does not feel drying at all, even on my winter-parched lips. It does not bleed and there is minimal amount of transfer. It’s one of the most comfiest lip products that I own.

Shade: “Sydney” is described as a soft lavender color. It has a pastel tone to it, hence it is not the most flattering on my light-medium Indian complexion. It applies a little streaky with one coat, but you can even it out with two coats and it doesn’t look as bad. While I do appreciate the uniqueness of this shade, I don’t see myself for this very much, but if you can rock this shade, I would urge you to go for it.

Pigmentation:  While all shades that I own are full coverage and pigmented, I have noticed some apply streakier and dry patchier than the others. I have found that the shades on the lightest end (some of the n*des and pastel shades) and the darkest end of the spectrum (some vampy shades and unconventional shades etc) from their range can be streaky and it can get very difficult to make them look even even with multiple coats. Most of the shades in the middle (pinks, reds etc) perform fantastic.

Staying Power: The shade stays on my lips for 6-7 hours before I notice slight fading while staying very comfortable and non drying on my lips all through the wear.

Overall, I am impressed with this product, especially for this super affordable price tag, but I would urge you to read reviews for the shades you are eyeing as the performance is not consistent across the board for all shades.
