Recently, I decided to grab a few shades from the NYX Intense Butter Glosses and see for myself what all the fuss is about! I have reviewed quite a few shades for you all before, check them out (Funnel Delight, Apple Crisp, Orangesicle).  Trust me ladies, these babies deserve all the love and attention that they are receiving! Today, I am going review the shade “Spice Cake.” This is my most favourite shade out of all the colors launched in this range. So, let’s get started!

My Experience with NYX Spice Cake Intense Butter Gloss:

Packaging: The NYX Intense butter glosses come in a sleek and chic plastic tube packaging with a shiny gunmetal coloured cap containing 8 ml of product. The packaging is like their statement soft matte lip creams. The body of the tube is colour-coded to the lip gloss shade which makes my life simple! The applicator is a standard doe-foot applicator, but a little flat and flexible which makes applying the gloss comfortable. Since the tube is tiny and sleek, it can be easily slipped into the purse while travelling or for daily touch ups.

Colour: The shade “Spice Cake” is a super fabulous bright mauve-y purple colour with pink undertones. This shade is right up my alley and those who like bright shades like this will love this one for sure. If you have not entered the bandwagon of using bright lipsticks, this gloss will break the monotony and is a great option to try out. The shade is the perfect red and will suit all skin tones.

Pigmentation: This baby is insanely pigmented for a lip gloss. If you are considering this gloss to be a shiny lipstick with medium to low pigmentation, forget it ladies!! This one provides a full colour pay-off in just one swipe. I tried to sheer it out in my hand swatches, but it still shows up very well pigmented.

Texture: The texture of this gloss is a hybrid of liquid lipstick and lip gloss which is hydrating. This gloss is super creamy and less gloss-like. It applies on the lips like butter but it still has the stickiness to it which makes it long lasting. It is very comfortable to wear and moisturizes the lips which makes wearing a lip balm before this gloss, an option. It does feel a bit tacky initially, but the stickiness wears out eventually throughout the day. It’s the best formulation of a lip gloss and imparts a gorgeous glossy shine, colour and hydration to the lips.

Longevity: This gloss is way more long lasting than a regular gloss. I believe the long wear time is due to the thick consistency and the initial tackiness. Even though the shine starts to fade away after 4 hours or so, the colour still remains on the lips, which is a fantastic feature of this gloss.

Would I Recommend NYX Spice Cake Intense Butter Gloss?
Hell yeah!!! This is the best formulation of lip gloss that I have ever tried. I wish all other brands came out with this kind of formulation for their lip glosses. I will recommend this range to everyone as it has all the features that a fantastic gloss should have and to top it all, its also affordable. There are 12 amazing shades ladies, go grab at least one!
