NYX Spicy Xtreme Shine Lip Cream Review

By now, you would have understood that I have a special corner for NYX Cosmetics. 😛 Whenever I go to ULTA, I run towards the NYX section for my purchases. They are so affordable and I just love their color range.

This review is about NYX Xtreme shine lip cream – Spicy. I wasn’t really sure of the color as I’ve never tried a bold and shiny red color but I still, decided to give it a try. So read on to know my views on this!

Packaging:
This product comes in a see-through container with the lip cream shade clearly visible. This comes with an easy-to-use doe-foot applicator. The case contains the name of the brand, the name (Spicy) & code of the product (XLC03) and list of ingredients etc. written in black color. The cap opens and shuts without any difficulty.

How to use:
Apply to dry, clean lips. Use alone or with any NYX lip liner.

Fragrance:
Like other NYX lip colors, this lip color also has a kind of chemical or medicinal scent. The scent does tend to stick around and goes away after a little while.

My Views on NYX Spicy Xtreme Shine Lip Cream :

The product has a good quality and do what it promises – a mix of lipstick and lip gloss, very shiny and with a high coverage. The color of this lipstick is bright red with a hue of pink color and an added sheen. Well, I’m still figuring out the exact color. Apply an even layer all over the lips. It can be used with NYX lip liner as desired. You won’t need a gloss over this as it has a glossy effect to it.

This lip color is hydrating and nicely pigmented. One swipe is enough to impart a good color on your lips. 2-3 swipes will give you a very bright color. In the pic I’ve done 1 swipe only.
It doesn’t wear off easily. The glossy effect tends to go after you have a meal or a drink but it imparts color to your lips, so if you are okay with the no-gloss effect then you don’t have to reapply. The color stays put for good 3-4hrs.

And as always added benefit is NYX’s incredible value. At this price, I can get more shades.

Would I buy NYX Xtreme Shine Lip Cream Spicy again?
I won’t purchase the same shade again. Would like to try other shades as well. Would recommend it to all those who love bright colors.
