You should have your pocket filled with “moolah” whenever you think of going to Sephora but NYX is one brand which is easy on the pocket and on top of that delivers amazing quality products. I own more than half of the products available at Sephora stores at the NYX counter, out which today I will be reviewing the Flat Powder Foundation from the Stay Matte but not Flat range.

I personally feel that in a country like ours, there should be wide range of shades available for all us girls whose skin tone varies from dark to fair. That’s what beauty and makeup is all about right? Being comfortable in one’s own skin. NYX scores a 10/10 in this department because of their wide variety of shades available. The powder I own is in the shade soft beige.

My Experience With NYX Stay Matte But Not Flat Powder Foundation:

The packaging is nothing special with the round compact case, black in color with the product details written in white. However, I love the little heart under the NYX logo; it’s adorable and feels so feminine.

This can be used as a finishing powder or in place of your regular liquid foundation, as the name suggests. However, I have used it as finishing powder only but I’m tempted to try the latter as well. Talking about the coverage and you will not be disappointed here because it is dreamy! Yes you heard (in this case read) it right. The sheer coverage of this powder is flawless. It goes on smoothly without sitting heavy on your face. It feels light and looks natural, which in my case are the two most important points every makeup product should follow. It claims to be sweat and water resistant and the performance in this particular department is fairly good.

This product blends well but make sure you use a little quantity per application because in makeup, a little goes a long way otherwise it may seem a little too obvious that you’re wearing makeup. Is the staying power good? It’s great. It will stay on for a good 4-5 hours after which you might need a touchup on your t-zone. It literally glides on your face smoothly and so easily without making your skin appear cakey or blotchy.

There are absolutely no side-effects and no irritation post application. It is easy to put on and easy to remove. You can either use a makeup remover or moisturizer and wipe it off with cotton pads and it come off just that easily without leaving any pigmented residue on your face.
The quantity of this powder is good. I’ve been using this for over 2 months now and it is still as good as new.

NYX has lived up all its claims and definitely has hit a jackpot with this product. If you’re on a budget and looking for something great that would not burn a hole in your pocket then this product that will solve all your miseries, well, it’s not going to make maths any easier or keep us girls from eating without getting fat but you get the point. It’s a great product in my opinion and worth a try.
