My Experience with NYX Stripped Off Micellar Water:
I have oily skin that is prone to breakout. Therefore, I prefer using bi-phased or oil-based makeup removers only for my eye makeup and not for the whole face. And, I use micellar water for my face. I had got this NYX Stripped Off Micellar Water quite sometime back and I have been using it for a couple of weeks. So, let’s see how this product has turned out.
Beginning with the packaging of the product. The micellar water comes in a huge squarely shaped transparent plastic bottle. There is a label at the back bearing the entire product related information. The bottle has a typical flip top cap that shuts tightly, making this bottle leak-proof. The cap has a small nozzle to dispense the product and it helps to keep a control on the amount of the product to be dispensed and prevents wastage. Overall, the packaging is basic and easy to use, but it is too huge and bulky to carry around during travelling. And, there are no smaller size options available.
The micellar water is clear and has runny water like consistency. The formula is lightweight and it leaves the skin clean without leaving any residue behind. I apply some product on a cotton ball and apply it all over my face. This micellar water works well for both normal and waterproof makeup. But, it takes little time to break down waterproof makeup. It removes light and non-waterproof makeup easily with a few swipes, while a little effort is required to get rid of waterproof and strongly pigmented makeup. I tried using this micellar water with a super staining lipstick and it could not remove the stain completely. You may also observe in the last swatch below that a light stain of the lipstick is still noticeable.
The formulation does not irritate my eyes while removing makeup, but it takes really long to get rid of waterproof mascara. It suits my sensitive skin well and does not cause any skin allergies at all. It also removes every bit of dirt and grime from the face and leaves skin squeaky clean. It does not dry out my skin and cleanses it well without snatching its moisture. Overall, this is a decent product, but a good amount of it has to be taken to remove makeup perfectly.
