Ever since NYX released the Strobe of Genius Illuminating Palette, I have had my eyes on it, but since I had no access to it, I used to just get happy looking at the beautiful swatches and watching reviews on YouTube! But finally, I got a chance to try out this awesome palette and I am thoroughly enjoying it! Let’s have a look!

My Experience with NYX Strobe of Genius Illuminating Palette:

Strobing is all over the beauty world, which really is just a fancy word for highlighting. I am all about a nice subtle highlight because it really makes you glow and seem vibrant without looking like a disco ball. I especially love to highlight on special occasions and just go for an overall glow on a daily basis.

Packaging: The NYX Strobe of Genius comes in a black plastic compact with a clear top and contains seven highlighting shades! The top four shades are 0.07 oz. each and the bottom three larger shades are 0.14 oz. each. Since it has a clear lid, it does not come with a mirror or applicator, which is fine. The packaging is pretty sturdy I must say.

Color:  There is a wide range of shades in this palette that are incredibly versatile. This palette includes off-white, champagne, pale lavender, pale pink, rose gold, yellow gold and bronze. The best thing about this palette is that the shades can be mixed and matched and layered together according to your skin type an preference. This is like a One-Stop-Destination for all your highlighting needs.

Pigmentation: The shades are soft, velvety and beautifully pigmented. All the shades are super opaque in just one swipe. Also, they do go on a lot heavier when swatched with fingers as compared to using a brush, which is good as it does not make the face too shiny.

Texture: The shimmer in these shades is very finely milled, so there’s no chunky glitter. They look really natural on the skin and catch the light in just the right way, but that doesn’t mean that these are subtle by any means! These give you that intense sheen that you want in a highlighter to make your cheekbones pop.

Quality: Overall, I am so happy that I was able to find this palette and it was totally worth every single penny spent on it. It’s sure on the pricier side for a drugstore palette, but when you consider that it comes with seven shades and the quality and finish rivals the higher-end highlighters, it’s definitely worth the price, in my opinion.

Would I Repurchase/Recommend NYX Strobe of Genius Illuminating Palette?
If you are not that crazy highlight lover, then skip this, but otherwise, go grab this palette now! I find them to be comparable to highlighters from Becca and ABH for a lot less money. In fact, I reach out to these more often than my higher-end highlighters because all of the shades are in one place and it’s so easy to mix and match them together to get the exact look you want, I love it!
