This is the second blush from this range I purchased as part of my Ulta haul. Like I mentioned in my earlier post, they have a very classy, sophisticated look. They come in various shades and finishes too. Read further to know more about this shade, Summer.
A high definition lightweight blush that blends evenly. This vibrant and silky blush delivers a beautiful flush of color and is paraben free.
My Take on NYX Summer High Definition Blush:
Like NARS blushes, these blushes also come in several shades and finishes. If one’s local store carries them all, one is bound to find some shade or the other which goes well with their complexion.
The product comes in a plastic pan – square with curved corners. The compacts are slim and sleek, and they include the signature NYX bow clasp. The product is set in an aluminum pan and the lid is clear and see-through one; this makes color identification easier.
It’s a compact powder blush with little fallout and mild, homogeneous shimmer. This blush is easier to work with compared to the last blush (Double Dare) I reviewed; which was way too powdery. One can dab off excess product from the brush while applying to remove any loose pigment. The pigment tends to fly around a lot, so just a light sweep at a time is enough. Also, this blush is easier to blend compared to the last blush I reviewed.
Coral – pale pink color with mild gold shimmer. This shade should have worked for me but it didn’t because it is bit too cool toned for my liking. So it looked rather unnatural on my face. Also it is way too pale to show any significant color on my face.
Awesome pigmentation when applied with a fluffy blush brush. One sweep is enough for both of my cheeks so much so that it looked unflattering for me. I have to be extra careful with it since it is cooled toned. If I overboard, it looks way too shiny or rather oily.
Shimmer and Shine:
It has mild shimmer, but one has to be careful while applying it.
The staying power is really impressive and it will easily last an entire day or till it is removed.
This is a very pretty blush range which comes in 24 shades and most of these colors. This particular shade gives a very pretty flush and shine to the face, but I have to be careful while using it or I end up looking way too theatrical. But if applied properly and paired with right eyeshadow and lip color, it totally complements the look. The shade range caters to all skin tones and there is something for everyone.
Pros of NYX Summer High Definition Blush:
• Love the packaging – cute and slim with a bow clasp
• Good quantity for the money paid
• Coral with pale pink with mild shimmer
• Looks pretty if applied in small quantity
• Amazing staying power
• Comparable to expensive blushes
• Pocket friendly
• Dewy finish
• Awesome pigmentation
• Smooth texture
• Just a sweep is enough
Cons of NYX Summer High Definition Blush:
• Color does not look great on my skin tone since it is cool toned
• Can easily look garish
• Not meant for warm skin tones
• Falls out a little
Would I Repurchase NYX Summer High Definition Blush?
No because it doesn’t look great on me, but beauties with fair skin tones should try it out and other 23 shades as well.
3/5 (only because I don’t like the shade)
