How are you doing today? I am here to share my views on NYX’s newly-launched “Full Throttle” range. This range has eyeshadow palettes in four variants. I picked the palette “Take Over Control,” which has 3 shimmery and 1 matte shade; just perfect and complete enough to create day time or evening makeup looks. My Experience with NYX Take Over Control Full Throttle Shadow Palette:

This palette comes in a standard black case with a plastic see-through flip top cap which has beautiful patterns on the edges. I do miss mirror and applicator though I am expecting too much for the price and quality. Overall, I am happy with its sturdy, user friendly and travel-friendly packaging.

“Take Over Control” has 4 versatile shades which would be flattering most Indian Asian black/brown eyes beauties, I believe. They didn’t put specific names to the shades while they described them as (left to right) – pale pink with gold shimmer, matte muted mauve, shimmery pearl black and shimmery deep copper. Starting from shade 1, it is such a beautiful champagne pink shimmer perfect for highlighting brow bone, inner corner of eyes and/or cupid’s bow. I am always inclined towards such soft-toned shimmery pinks considering my brown eyes and pale skin tone and it totally gives a pop up effect to my eye makeup. It is a highly pigmented despite the chalky texture which does not show up in the finish thankfully, but it does have fallout and might require clean up post usage.

Shade 2 appears to be a muted brown matte shade in the pan while it is a true mauve when swatched on the skin. I love this cool-toned muted mauve shade in person though it seems slightly lighter for my skin tone. I find it good enough to be used as a crease color or pairing with mauve theme eye makeup as it imparts such bright muted purple toned color to the skin. It is highly pigmented and buttery soft on the skin as it blends seamlessly into an even-toned finish with no chalky or cakey feel at all. It does appear chalky in packaging though. I love how it imparts complete color pay off in one gentle swipe with no creasing or transferring.

Shade 3 is a beautiful deep copper shimmery shade which seems perfect to be used as all-over eye color for bridal theme makeup or there are nth opportunities to pair it with similar theme. I love wearing it alone on eyelids with jet black winged liner and I am all set for festive makeup. It is also silky satin in touch and finish while it imparts full color pay off and even-toned finish in one single swipe. It blends really well into a seamless pigmented finish with slightly lesser fallout and no chalky feel thankfully.

Shade 4 is a pearly black shade which appears semi-mate on the skin and it’s my favorite color in this pan. Since I have more affinity towards smoky eye makeup (credits to runway looks), I find myself reaching for this color every time for smoky runway look. It is quite silky in texture and certainly falls out free as compared to the rest of the shades in the pan. I like how it imparts soft smoky pigmentation on the eyes in one gentle swipe while it blends effortlessly imparting saturated pigmented finish. The fact that it has hint of shimmer makes it perfect for any evening smoky look or simply swiping it along lash line for soft kohl-rimmed eyes.

Overall, I love how I can make use of every individual shade in this pan along with sporting monotone eye makeup while I can mix and match them to try different smoky day time or night-time looks alone. I mean this palette is complete in itself and being a beginner, I have already tried 5 different looks from this palette alone, impressive right? No wonder NYX does it again; I own many palettes and quads from NYX and always find them better than even high-end products at times. However, I do see slightly chalky texture in pan though it never shows up in the finish thankfully as all the shades blend nicely to seamless satin finish. Moreover, apart from the first pink shimmery shade in this pan, all 3 shades give comparably lesser or nil fall out while they appear less chalky and silky soft while working on eyes as well. In fact, all 4 shades in the pan are highly pigmented and impart full color pay off in one gentle swipe. The best part is that it provides full coverage and decent staying power even without any primer and base though I prefer using primer for my oily eyelids. They stay put for good 6+ hours on my oily eye lids without any smudging. I would definitely recommend this product to every beauty; personally, I am definitely getting another palette from this range.

• Presence of talc in the formula.
• No applicator included.
• Appears chalky in packaging.
• Icy shimmery pink has a bit of a fallout.

Well, this is hands-down one of the most economic and versatile palettes out there in the market as per my opinion barring a few disappointments.
