NYX Flawless Finish Blending Sponge is just amazing, but it is never in stock 🙁 So, I opted for this ‘Teardrop Blending Sponge’ this time. But, is this variant any good? Let’s find out.
A luxurious teardrop-shaped sponge, perfect for a smooth and even application of liquid and cream formulas. Comes in a pack of two.
$7 (INR 525).
My Experience with NYX Teardrop Blending Sponge:
This set of two sponge comes in a zip pouch, which is great for storage. I can easily keep my sponges in this pouch or carry it with me. Both the sponges fit well inside the packaging. The pouch has some information about the product too.
These sponges are pink in color, which gives them a girly vibe, but sadly, they lose their color when you wash them. Yes, the color bleeds. I think the quality is not good enough and might end up affecting sensitive skin. Both the sponges are same in shape and size. These can be used all over the face or just on some area, as you wish. I am not impressed with the overall quality of the sponges. Yes, the price is relatively low but these sponges feel really cheap when I hold or use them.
The sponge is easy to use. I use damp sponge to blend my products and it does the job pretty well provided the product to blend is low coverage or super lightweight. It cannot blend high coverage or thick products perfectly. For example, I can use this to blend my Maybelline Age Rewind Concealer but not L’Oreal 24 HR Fresh Foundation. It also blends lip and cheek tints pretty well but such products leave stains on this sponge. You can see in the picture how my TBS Lip and Cheek Stain has stained the sponge.
Since these sponges soak up a lot of product, washing takes some extra time. I have washed my sponges a couple of times by now and they lose their color each time, which is annoying, but the stains are still pretty much intact. Even foundations can stain these sponges easily. Another minus point is that they take forever to dry.
Overall, not really impressed with these makeup sponges. You can get these if you need extra sponges for petty jobs, but then these are not amazing. They do not impart flawless finish at all. Also, as I mentioned, I am afraid the dye from these sponges might end up irritating sensitive skin.

Not really. This quality is not very good and the stains on these annoy me too much.
