My Experience with NYX Velvet Matte Lipstick Unicorn Fur:

The lipstick comes in a black colored round plastic tube with a matte finish. The brand name and the range name are printed on the tube in simple white fonts. The tube bears the ingredients list on its side. There is a sticker at the base of the tube that bears the shade name and number. The neck of the tube is transparent and one can easily spot the shade through it. The lipstick is typical bullet shaped with a slant tip that gives précise application. The cap of the lipstick shuts satisfactorily making an audible click sound. Overall, the packaging of the lipstick is decent and travel-friendly.

The shade “Unicorn Fur” is a vibrant neon pink kind of shade. It almost looks like a Barbie pink shade, which will flatter fair skin tones exclusively. This is a bold shade and not for weak hearted people. The color is beautiful and instantly brightens up the complexion. The shade is very bright and gives an instant pop of color to the entire look. As it is a bright shade, it is a little difficult for me carry it on usual basis. But, I love carrying such vibrant pinks for parties. The lipstick is decently pigmented and it gives semi-opaque coverage in a single swipe. Two to three swipes build up decent amount of color on the lips. The lipstick applies evenly on the lips without giving any streaky finish. There is no significant sheen or shimmers in this lipstick and it sets to a semi-matte kind of finish. There is no fragrance in this lipstick.

The texture of the lipstick is average. It is not super creamy or buttery smooth and it tugs the lips slightly. It is advised to properly exfoliate and moisturize the lips as it is a matte lip color and it has the tendency to cling to the dry patches of the lips. It looks slightly patchy if the lips are not prepped well. It slightly settles into the fine lines of the lips after having a full meal or once the color wipes off. The lipstick is smudge proof and does not budge at all. The lipstick has a tendency to transfer a little. It is not heavily transferring. The formula is lightweight. It does not have a thick or waxy kind of feel. Hence, it feels comfortable on the lips. The lipstick formula is not really moisturizing. My lips feel dry after a few hours of application. So, it is necessary to keep the lips well hydrated and nourished.

The lasting power is average and it stays for around 4-5 hours on my lips with slight fading from the center of the lips. The color fades after a full meal and it requires reapplication. Removing the lipstick is easy, but it leaves a light pink stain on the lips, which is difficult to remove and can be taken off using a good makeup remover.

Will I Repurchase/Recommend NYX Velvet Matte Lipstick Unicorn Fur?
No, I would not really recommend NYX Velvet Matte Range since I find it a bit drying. NYX Matte Lipsticks are better than this range. So, this is the only range that I dislike personally from NYX.
