My Experience with O3+ Sea Weed Face Emulsion:

After finishing two tubes of Vichy Essentielles Facial Emulsion, I eventually got bored and wanted something else for my combination-oily skin. Also, since the summers are just around the corner, I wanted something that was less greasy.

Last month, I got a facial done and the salon lady used all O3+ products and I quite liked it. That salon has a counter for O3+ skin care products and I checked out a few of them. So, that’s where I saw this emulsion. It stated “sea weed,” so I could relate how “The Body Shop Sea Weed Toner” suits me well, so may be this could work for me too. It also claims to be an “oil reducer” and when I checked the ingredients list, the first component was lactic acid.  I just couldn’t find a reason to say “no” to this emulsion 😀

The emulsion has a mild formula, thin consistency and absorbs into the skin quickly. It is very lightweight too. On immediate application, it gives a subtle glow to the face.

I need just about one drop of this (amount shown in swatch) for half of the face. When I applied this first time, I ended up using a lot of this and my face got greasy within an hour and I was wondering whether this was supposed to reduce oil 😐 So, I learnt that I needed to use very little quantity of it.  The emulsion has a mix of herbal and chemical fragrance, nothing really bad actually, but not something very pleasant either.

The emulsion suits my combination to oily skin quite well. It keeps my skin hydrated without making it too oily or greasy. Only after 4-5 hours, I notice that my T zone gets a little greasy and I really don’t mind that. But I doubt how well it would be able to control oil when full-on summers (May-June) arrive.

I finished up the tube two days back and I had all the plans to repurchase this, but I ended up buying Revlon Age Defying Lotion 😛 .If that doesn’t suit me, I am getting back to this O3+ emulsion.

Overall, I like this product and I would recommend it to ladies with combination-oily skin, but I am not sure if this could work for oily to extremely oily skin as well.

Pros of O3+ Sea Weed Face Emulsion:

  • Lightweight, mild formula.
  • Thin consistency, spreads and absorbs quickly into the skin.
  • Rightly hydrates my skin without making it too greasy.
  • Suits my combination to oily skin.
  • Does not clog pores or cause breakouts.
  • Convenient to use, tube type packaging.
  • You need just 1-2 drops of it for full face, so one tube lasts easily for a month.

Cons of O3+ Sea Weed Face Emulsion:

  • Cannot reduce/control oil for the whole day, after 4-5 hours, I can see my T zone showing up some shine.
  • Availability could be an issue. I have seen it till date at salons only and at a shop that stocks parlour supplies.
  • Ingredients list does not seem complete.

P.S.:  I am not aware if there is a difference in facial emulsion and moisturiser. If you know more about it, please do enlighten me.

Also, it becomes very difficult to analyse the effect of one single product on skin. I am using a lot of products on my skin along with face masks, so can’t really comment, which product alone can really bring about a great change in your skin.
