Ofra Silk Lip Liner Review

Hello dear readers,

In past few years, I completely stopped buying lip liners because I thought I don’t need them much for a neat application, but with liquid lipsticks carving their niche in my stash, I realized I need to invest in a few liners to keep my stash updated. I have been mostly picking up neutral shades to make the most of them. Ofra Cosmetics has been earning good name in cosmetic industry recently. Today, I will review Ofra Cosmetics Lip Liner in the shade “Silk.”

My Take on Ofra Silk Lip Liner:

The packaging is simple and conventional, like most of the lip liners available in the market. Ofra Lip liner Silk comes in a sharpen-able pencil form. There is no sharpener included. The cap closes tight yet it can come off any day in bag, ready to mess up with inner line of your favourite bag.

Ofra Lip liner’s description states that it has beeswax base for a smooth application. Yes, it indeed glides on smoothly but still the formula is drying for lips which makes you reach out for a sheer lip gloss or lip balm to cater hydration issues when wearing this alone. The shade “Silk” is a very light, neutral tea pink shade which actually attains a n*de look when I wear it on my pigmented lips. The light shade isn’t dramatic and easily blends with any pink, n*de or light brown lipstick I wear. It makes my lipstick stay in place, ensures neat application and enhances the wearing time of my lipstick. It doesn’t feather or settle into lip lines.

The formula is waterproof; so Ofra Lip lines last as long as your lipstick lasts on your lips. Since the formula isn’t too creamy, the tip breaks off easily and you need to reshape the lip liner. They are unscented lip liners. The shade selection is wide and versatile. Ofra Lip liners are available in 16 shades, ranging from red, pink, mauve to even a light beige shade for highlighting the lips or cupid’s bow. The ingredient list doesn’t mention any parabens in it, but the weird part is that Ofra says in description that these pencils can double up as eyeliners! I am strictly of the opinion to keep lip liner and eyeliners separate because of the formula and ingredients, especially when it comes to my sensitive eyes, I will always prefer picking up a specified eye liner rather than using the same product fir eyes and lips.

Pros of Ofra Silk Lip Liner:

  • Neutral, light, tea pink shade to be used with pink, mauve, n*de and brown lip colors.
  • It glides on smoothly.
  • It has decent pigmentation.
  • It is an unscented lip liner.
  • Free from harmful chemicals.
  • It includes synthetic bee wax.
  • It makes my lipstick go neat and stay longer.
  • Waterproof and long-wearing lip liner.
  • Wide and versatile range of 16 shades.
  • Doesn’t feather or settle into lip lines.

Cons of Ofra Silk Lip Liner:

  • Silk is not a flattering shade to be worn on its own.
  • It is drying on lips without a lip gloss or lip liner.
  • The tip breaks off due to dry formula while you try to fill in lips.
  • Strangely, recommended to be multi used as eye liners (to which I disagree)

IMBB Rating:
3/5
Would I Recommend/Repurchase Ofra Silk Lip Liner?
I will recommend them because most of the lip liners are drying; there is noting weird about the formula. Also, the shade range is eye catching too. However, I won’t repurchase this shade again.
