OGX Sensually Soft Tsubaki Blossom Shampoo Review

Hello lovely ladies,

Today, I have a shampoo for you. Though OGX shampoos are loved and raved by many, I was very apprehensive while buying this one. The reason was my experience with the Proganix smooth shampoo and OGX is the parent company for Proganix.  So, I was really scared if OGX shampoo too would harm my hair instead of doing them any good, but I took the plunge and read on to know if it behaved better than the Proganix Smooth shampoo or not. 🙂

My Experience with OGX Sensually Soft Tsubaki Blossom Shampoo:

The shampoo comes in a fat transparent bottle which is the trademark packaging for all OGX shampoos. It has graphics of tsubaki blossom flower at the background. The bottle is see through and you know the quantity remaining in the bottle. The cap is a flip top one which closes securely. Overall, the packaging is simple, no frills attached and sturdy, but the bottle is huge to be taken along while traveling.

Though it is free from SLS/SLES, the shampoo lathers very well and that is due to the presence of Ammonium Lauryl Sulfate (ALS) which is also a foaming agent. This is very deceiving as the company is advertising it as a SLS-free shampoo, but they have added ALS which is similar to SLS.

The shampoo is transparent and thick, and smells wonderful. I don’t know how tsubaki blossom smells, but I totally love the flowery fragrance of the product. The fragrance doesn’t stay for long after the shower, but it makes my bathroom smell so good. 😉 And you can still smell a little bit of it when you grab your hair and take a sniff. Overall, I would say that the fragrance is feminine and fresh.

OGX Sensually Soft Tsubaki Blossom Shampoo

OGX Sensually soft Tsubaki blossom shampoo washes out the dirt and oil well and doesn’t leave any residue. It leaves hair squeaky clean. Though after oiling, two washes are required to wash out the oil completely, but all other shampoos too need two washes and I really don’t mind it.

OGX Sensually Soft Tsubaki Blossom Shampoo

I have oily scalp and dry hair. The shampoo leaves my hair soft and manageable, but my hair is naturally silky. It does tames frizz a little bit, but a conditioner/serum is needed for sure. It doesn’t add much shine to the hair. So for me, it’s a pretty normal shampoo and nothing extraordinary, but my husband has rough and coarse hair and he really likes the shampoo as it makes his hair really soft. 😉

Pros of OGX Sensually Soft Tsubaki Blossom Shampoo:

  • Wonderful fragrance.
  • SLES/SLS free.
  • Lathers well.
  • Contains Tsubaki blossom and bamboo extracts.
  • Makes hair soft and manageable.
  • Tames frizz a little bit.
  • Leaves hair squeaky clean.

Cons of OGX Sensually Soft Tsubaki Blossom Shampoo:

  • Fragrance doesn’t stay for long.
  • Huge bottle, not travel friendly.

IMBB Rating:
3.5/5

Would I Recommend/Repurchase OGX Sensually Soft Tsubaki Blossom Shampoo?
Overall, this is a good shampoo, but nothing very extraordinary. I like this shampoo but might not repurchase it. There are so many options available, would like to try out other options, but I would for recommend it for sure, especially to girls who have rough hair. Try this out and you might get a soft and silky mane. 😀

  1. OGX has become my HG brand for shampoos, and in fact for conditioners too. Products from no other brand hasn’t been able to tame my hair as much as products from this brand. The lack of SLES/SLS does make a huge difference in the long run. This one looks promising, but will still stick to my tea tree one for long.
