I have been trying to review this shampoo from OGX from quite a few days, though the pics were ready, it is only now that I have got the time and energy to sit down and jot down my thoughts about this OGX shampoo. Y’all know how difficult it is to get a SLS/SLES-free shampoo, and when you get a really good one, it’s really hard to let go of it! Before giving much away in the intro, here’s the detailed review 🙂
Drench your dehydrated strands in sweet nutrients. Nothing quenches thirsty hair like this weightless collection, infused with coconut water, coconut oil and electrolytes. The best part? Your hair will smell as beautiful as it
725 INR for 385 ml.
My Experience with OGX Weightless Hydration Coconut Water Shampoo:
At the outset, I had mentioned that this shampoo is SLES/SLS free and that means there are less chances of this shampoo causing irritation and hair loss. So, according to me, when you pick up such a hair product, you have already shown your hair some mercy 😛 The problem with SLES/SLS-free shampoos is that they don’t lather much, and if you have high TDS content water, getting squeaky clean hair is a task, but this one is an exception.
Talking about the packaging, this absolutely clear shampoo comes in a 385 ml chubby tub that’s transparent, so you can keep tabs on how much shampoo has been consumed up and when you need to pick up another bottle.
I should not miss describing the fragrance, it’s not a strong stark coconut scent that you get upon opening the bottle, it’s a sweet coconut caramel kind of sweetness and it does not linger in the hair for too long after rinsing, so those who do not like coconut-y fragrance, need not worry.
I absolutely love this shampoo because it lathers well without ripping off moisture or drying out the scalp. I do use a little more than the usual amount (compared to other regular drugstore shampoos) when I have heavily oiled my hair. This shampoo manages to hydrate and moisturize my hair, I do see some shine too. The biggest thing for me is that it does not kill the bounce in my wavy hair.
I have hit gold with another shampoo recently, Wella Elements Renewing Shampoo, that came along in this month’s Fab Bag. Alternating between Wella and OGX Coconut Water Shampoo has given a new boost of life and hydration to my hair. There has been no hair fall, dandruff issue either, so I am very happy, and would repurchase when this ends. Also, it’s time to get more SLS/SLES-free shampoos from OGX because I can see the difference of what detergent content can do to the hair.
