Hello pretty ladies,

I am back with a review and this time a facewash. When I saw this, the words ‘gentle’ and ‘sensitive’ caught my fancy and I bought this facewash. I had never tried Olay products, but was curious to try one. I bought the serum and this face wash together.

I was raving about the serum but this is sort of an anti-climax as I am not a fan of this face wash. I am wondering whether Olay concentrates a lot on expensive products ignoring the affordable ones? My roommate had used the 7 in 1 range and she had major break outs. Thankfully, Olay team agreed to give her a cash back. I thought this information would help some of us too because most of the times, we end up using the face creams on hands but not going for demanding a cash back.

What the brand claims:

Olay Gentle Foaming Facewash is formulated specifically for the special needs of sensitive skin. It removes dirt, oil and make-up without over drying your skin. The cleanser refreshes and also cares for your skin, by helping it retain its natural moisture as it cleans, giving you a fresh and clean appearance. Formula contains aloe extracts, is soap-free, fragrance-free and dye-free.

Directions:

Wet your hands and face. Dispense foaming face wash into your hand. Add water, work into a lather, and message onto your face and neck. Rinse off with water.

Water, Sodium Sacrosinate, Glycerine, PEG-120 Methyl Glucose Dioleate, Sodium Lauroamphoacetate, PEG-150 Pentaeythrityl, Tetrastearate, Sodium Trideceth Sulphate, Glycol Distearate, Sodium LaurethSulfate, Poluquaternium-10, Phenoxyethanol, CitricAcid, Disodium EDTA, DMDN Hydantoin, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf juice.

Packaging:

It comes in an attractive tube with a flip-open cap. This is quite sturdy and you can easily travel with it.

Effectiveness:

Whenever I use this face wash, I never get the squeaky clean feeling. It is ineffective in cleaning make-up as opposed to its claims. I think to make this gentle, Olay forgot that this is a face wash and its primary job is to clean the skin. I use this in the morning, but never after returning from office because, this does not remove makeup.

Pros of Olay Gentle Foaming Face Wash :

• Did not break me out.
• Not expensive.
• Easily available.
• Sturdy packaging.

Cons of Olay Gentle Foaming Face Wash :

• It does not remove makeup despite of the claims.
• It does not clean skin effectively.

What more can I say, I am disappointed with this big time, it does not clean the skin well. Now, I use this after I have removed my makeup with cleansing lotion or I use this in mornings when my skin is relatively clean. It is gentle but ineffective. One good thing about it is, at least this did not break me out. When I picked this, I thought I would buy other variants too but now, I don’t think I would be picking those up.

Will I repurchase or recommend Olay Gentle Foaming Face Wash with Aloe:

No, it does not do its job well. I would say, use Cetaphil, it is effective and better than this.
