Olay Refreshing Toner Review

Olay Refreshing Toner

Hello IMBB girls.

Hope everyone’s doing great. My review on Olay Refreshing toner as follows.

My skin type: I have combination skin (normal to oily ) oily on Tzone. My forehead, nose and apples of my cheeks have visible open pores. I get to see  small zits formed from these whiteheads every other day. So basically I have combination, acne prone skin. If i get to skip my cleaning routine even for a single day, I get pimples the next morning.

Olay Refreshing Toner

Directions:

Moisten a clean cotton ball with Olay Refreshing Toner and wipe face and neck.

Ingredients:

Water, SD alcohol 40, Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel), Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oi, Allantoin, Menthyl Lactate, Fragrance, Blue 1, Yellow 5.
All skin Types

Price:

I paid very high for this toner because I went to the wrong shop. Later I got to know that the shopkeeper charged almost double for the the things I bought as I had no knowledge about it at the time. Later I saw this in a store and was priced at around Rs. 300.

My take on Olay Refreshing Toner:

I am not a big Toner or astringent person as I like to rub ice on my face after I wash my face but few months back the shop person convinced me to use this particular toner as he said my skin really needs this. So I got it.

It is a big sturdy transparent (enough) bottle with a big cap. The color is beautiful teal blue. It smells very refreshing like all toners I suppose.

I bought this toner in March and at that time, it used to make my skin very dry right after I applied it on my face. I used to feel my skin dry and stretchy so wasn’t using it regularly. But now in summers, this has surprised me a little and refreshes my T-zone area which gets greasy easily. I use this in morning after cleansing my face and it helps from keeping my face gets greasy at bay. I skip this at night and instead use ice.

So overall its an okay product with good price and good quantity and does the job of closing pores after wash.

Pros of Olay Refreshing Toner:

* I like the bottle and color of toner.
* It refreshes the skin in summers. But I think for only oily/combination skin people.
* Not expensive.
* The quantity goes a long way.

Cons of Olay Refreshing Toner:

* Dries up skin in winters.
* Toning is actually an additional step for me to include in my cleaning+moisturizing routine.
* Stings for a few seconds.

Will I buy Olay Refreshing Toner again?

I would have said yes but a few days back I  tried the “Tea Tree water toner” from Lush which they sent me a sample of. I liked it so much that i cant wait to try it. So Olay, not now.

Thank you Everyone.

  1. I used this too before. I like it but I found something more gentle (like water) which has witch hazel too. 🙂
